Hulk Hogan and Christopher Lloyd: How's that for a tag team? In this lightweight comedy, they're brought together by the science fiction fates. Hogan is an enforcer from outer space whose ship crashes on Earth--and he's also being chased by interstellar villains. He becomes a boarder at the home of office drone Lloyd, whose obnoxious boss (Larry Miller) steals all his best ideas. Hogan teaches Lloyd to stand up for himself and Lloyd teaches Hogan restraint in a blend of slapstick and special effects that allows Hogan to kick some butt in the finale (one of the bounty hunters from outer space is played by the Undertaker). Strictly for kids, just like professional wrestling. --Marshall Fine

4.0 out of 5 stars consummate romp of wacky madcap hijinks., June 21, 1998

Hulk Hogan's previous acting endeavors like "No Holds Barred" and a guest appearance on "The A-Team", not to mention his cameo in the beginning of "Rocky 3" do not even begin to prepare you for this piece of celluloid gold. Hogan plays a space commando who must take residence in - not the urban area - but - the suburban area, hence the title. Was my usage of hyphens there correct? END

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must See For Wrestling Fans, December 5, 1999
By A Customer

Not only does this movie feature Hulk Hogan, but it also features Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) as Hutch, one of the bounty hunters. The plot is terrrible, the characters are a bit dull, but you'll find the movie itself is absolutely hilarious. I never thought I'd see the Undertaker in a movie as goofy as this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hulk Hogan At His Cheesy Best, July 16, 2006

This review is from: Suburban Commando (DVD)
Charley Wilcox (Chrstopher Loyde) is having a bad day. Fortunately, help is on the way...in the form of Shep Ramsey (Hulk Hogan), an intergalactic warrior who is at war with General Suitor, an evil dictater bent on ruling the universe. Shep succeeds in destroying Suitor's ship but during the escape his ship has a problem with it's onboard computer. Shep becomes angry and smashes the dashboard, inadvertently damaging his ship and causing him to make an emergency landing on our little Earth, (Shep's not so favorite planet), for repairs. This is where the fun begins. Mrs. Wilcox turns Charley's work shed into an apartment and Shep rents it out. To make matters worse Charley accedently charges one of Shep's weapons allowing two bounty hunters who are hired by Suitor to hunt down and destroy Shep, (Undertaker and Jake The Snake), to find his exact location. The showdown between Shep and the bounty hunters is the best part, especially when we find out why they're always so mum. "No wonder you guys never talk!" And of course Shep and Charley have a final battle with Suitor as well, with hilarious results. All in all this is a good action/comedy movie for the family or just nostalgia. It's pretty funny but it's not the best I've ever seen.
