4.0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old has mighty math powers... July 19, 2011
My 3 year old son LOVES Team Umizoomi. I find it interesting to watch the combination of animation and real people and to listen to the catchy tunes.

In this episode, Milli, Geo, and Bot have to help Millie gather kite pieces for her kite. I only let my son watch educational TV, and in this episode he learns:

1) Shapes
2) Counting/math
3) The power of teamwork
4) To help those who need it

After this episode, the baby dropped her toy and my son swooped down and grabbed it, saying, "I'll help you!" He then handed it to her while I said, "thanks Team Umizoomi!" That gave him a fit of giggles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally a kid's show that doesn't yell at you September 25, 2010
By Brandon
My 2-yr old loves this show and has actually learned some counting/numbers and his shapes from it!

I like it because unlike Dora, Kai-lan, etc, the characters aren't yelling at you for the duration of the show!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Son Is An Umi Friend February 26, 2010
Milli (pink girl) -- she can change her dress to match any patterns, Geo (blue boy) -- he can use his shape belt to make things, and Bot (self-explanatory) -- TV screen on his "belly belly belly" get a message at Umi headquarters that the dinosaurs in the museum were frightened away by a thunderstorm. The dinos are spread out all over the city. Using their unique abilities, and with help from your child's "mighty math powers" they have to round up the dinos before the big show. The themes emphasized in this episode are pattern recognition, simple geometry, and basic math.

My 4 yr old is completely insane for Team Umi Zoomi. I thought he had outgrown Nick Jr., since most of his current favorites are on Playhouse Disney, but this show has won him back. Nick Jr was brilliant adding a show that shows how fun math can be. My son is only allowed a certain amount of TV time each day, and he has chosen this show over & over again.

He had the flu, so I got the Video On Demand to cheer him up, and it helped keep him in one place, so that was a plus.
