I like this video very much. It has a number of excellent "shorts," which have pedagogical value in my teaching as a professor of psychology. Production value is very high.

There is no subway system like NYC's,

If you have ever been a rider on the NYC subways, you will appreciate and understand this film. You will howl with laughter/horror at the stories. You will also tear up. The segments are riveting and wonderfully shot. The film reminds one that you just never know what to expect descending the stairs into the subway. The only certainty is that you will not be bored.

This DVD I honestly feel should be based on true stories because every story depicted I can actually see happening in real life..should definitely be a mini-series for Cinemax, HBO, SHOW, IFC or Sundance

These things really happened!,

So, this movie has a very interesting premise. New Yorkers were invited to submit their stories from riding the subway and then 10 were turned into short films starring some very recognizable actors and actresses. Some stories are sad and other humorous. There is a great mix of emotions here.
Some of my favorites were "Underground", where a young man has his heart and face broken and is nursed and a little more by a sweet older women, "Honey-Getter" where a women asserts herself when I really didn't think she would, "Love On The A Train" which is about a strange relationship which I still cannot believe is a true story(!) and "Manhattan Miracle" which was surprising therapeutic to watch. Because these are true stories they don't really have story arcs, they are more snippets of life not unlike other short films or stories. And it's really crazy to think that all of these are true. I ride a bus in a metropolitan area but don't see things nearly this crazy!

I had seen these previously some years ago on HBO - and have fond memories. When they recently came up in conversation I decided to purchase them for myself. They are wonderful. Thoughtful and heartwarming stories - an amazing cast - a treat for all members of the family - young and old. You will watch them all in a row once you've started. Enjoy
