The key to succeeding beyond adversity is knowledge. When you know better, you can do better. Success is helping others, doing what you want to do, living a comfortable life, and having peace of mind. Success is a journey and not a destination. Strive to get on top because the bottom is already overcrowded. This is not an autobiography, it is about how life can make you or break you.

More About the Author

Robert was born in Sicily Island, Louisiana but family moved to Ferriday, Louisiana where he lived until joining the military at age 19.
Even at the tender age of 10, Robert Comradd.....
After viewing Martin Luther King's funeral broadcast on television, Robert knew right then that he wanted to make a difference. He and his sister integrated the lower elementary school in Ferriday, Louisiana.
Robert's mother was active in the civil rights movement and encouraged him to do the same.
Eventually, Robert joined the military and even fought in the Gulf war. After leaving the military, Robert found it hard to find a civilian job even with all of his experience. It was then that Robert decided to define his own destiny. Robert earned a degree in electronics and landed a job working at a department store, Robert later was introduce to Toastmasters. This is when Robert knew his true calling. It was to encourage and motivate others to strive for success and never give up. Robert also wrote a selfhelp book about his life experiences. There will be a follow up book behind this one. It will be availabe next year. Read "Succeed Beyond Adversity" a great inspiring book.

I truly enjoy books that tell us that everything is possible and Succeed Beyond Adversity falls fully into this category.

The author begins the book by telling us his life experiences - I especially enjoyed the stories of his youth and the "Christmas Gift" story made me feel so bad.

The author has certainly gone through some extremely difficult times, starting at a young age, but yet, as the story is told from his perspective, and although some of it is pretty sad and depressing, you always get the feeling that there is an tone of "possibility" that there is a way to make things better. So, although the stories are sad, the hidden (or not so hidden) message behind the words is one of optimism and that is what I enjoyed the most about this book.

Yes, as the book progresses, the author goes into more of a "how to" book and explores issues like how to make more money, etc., but for me, the message of hope and of never giving up is what I retain most from this very well written book.
