Editorial Reviews

Review

"I have been looking for a text like this since I began teaching this course. Most of the texts I have used for this course do not have the business element needed to help prepare business school students for the reality of database management in the corporate environment. This text seems to fill this gap." -- Deanne Kramer, Baylor University

5.0 out of 5 stars Access 2003 & Relational databases, December 29, 2006
This review is from: Succeeding in Business with Microsoft Office Access 2003: A Problem-Solving Approach (Paperback)
If you don't understand anything at all about databases, this book speaks to you in PLAIN ENGLISH!! Every book I've ever picked up, has always been in computer speak. This one uses every day problems, situations, and examples to show you how to use it, when to use it, & where to use this software. I read a ton of computer books & this one so far, surpasses all the others when it comes to understanding relational databases . . . it's written in English!

Read it cover to cover. Do the exercises at the end of each chapter and for the first time, you'll understand databases and what all the fuss is about. It's the one I recommend to my students, family, and friends when they seem to have that large question mark looming over their heads.

This book removes the mystery from databases, especially Access, which can be rather daunting. And while removing that mystery from Access, it gives you a little insight to Filemaker Pro as a database & you can see how the two software programs differ from each other while still being databases.

Don't let this book pass you buy. If you see it, get it & read it because you'll finally understand what's been going on in your class!

Highly recommended for people who need to take a class in dB (databases) and don't know the first thing about it. This is YOUR book!!

After reading this book, you'll wish there was one just like it for Visual Basic and some of those other computer books!! ROTFLOL!! Buy it, you'll definitely like it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Great Deal!, February 3, 2009
This book arrived in good time. It was brand new, and a lot cheaper than the used editions offered at the campus book store or on Ebay. My daughter, who attends college, is very happy with it. I hope to do business with this seller again!
