Everyone has a book on prosperity nowadays. Most simply rehash many of the new thought ideas of the past century adding sparkling new pieces of pizzazz to the packaging and using marketing elements like it's a big "secret" for promotion. This not withstanding, there remains a good deal of potential wealth in these works for those unfamiliar with earlier versions. However, Success Intelligence transcends this collective body of typical prosperity works.
Dr. Robert Holden first shows the reader the errors of the success trap--more for more sake alone. He leverages his personal experience to illustrate the error in the pace as well as the vision held by most entrepreneurs and with a certain brilliant wit shows us how to get more with less.
Over and over again Robert relates one's work with their lives and relationships in ways that build both confidence and respect--confidence in oneself and respect for self and others. The bottom line, create a success vision that is authentic (the real you), liberating, packed with joy and one that does not get lost in "sick hurry."

These are just a few of the subjects this amazing new book covers. Following on from the highly acclaimed Happiness NOW!, this book adds to the message of following your joy to questioning and deciding what success really means for you. I highly recommend this book.
In a nutshell, this book is basically a self-help on self-discovery. The author talks a lot about vision and purpose in life, but he does not define them. He directs his clients toward self-discovery.
The best part of the book is in chapter 1, "The Manic Society." After that, every chapter seems to be the same. He just talks about the same topic from different angles using different terms. The book is like a two dimensional space, lacking the third dimension and therefore depth or much substance.
All throughout the book / audio CD the author makes frequent references to God and to the prophets. He does not praise any religion over the others. Although the ideas he puts forward are not necessarily religious his approach is still from a religious perspective. That's OK if this is what the reader is looking for.
In the audio CD I found his voice dull and boring. I don't think that the voice should have been excessively excited like many motivational speakers do. But his voice should have been a little more energetic. He hasn't used humor at all. The topics are serious but a little bit of humor without exaggeration could have made the audio CD less boring to listen to. OK, the purpose is not to make the readers / listeners laugh in this book but this method is very boring when I compare it with many other self help books I read.Read more ›
Great teacher, great book.
What I really like about this book is that it breaks away from the usual hyped-up view of success where it is only about more, better, best. Robert Holden offers a sane and compelling view of success which allows the deeper parts of ourselves to participate. He helps us discover our deeper purpose and how to express this in productive, meaningful and enjoyable ways. He shows that it is from our deepest self that we can experiences the most fun and the most success.
Success Intelligence is an eminently practical book. It takes a balanced view of handling our own deepest needs for fulfillment while also being able to best serve the organisation we work for. That is probably why Robert gets invited to deliver his material to a wide rage of organisations from large corporations to theatre companies.
Robert Holden is himself a brilliant example of the principles he teaches as he goes from strength to strength and from success to more success.
I should declare an interest in that Robert Holden wrote a lovely endorsement for my book Forgiveness is Power.
