The Intelligence of Success Intelligence

Everyone has a book on prosperity nowadays. Most simply rehash many of the new thought ideas of the past century adding sparkling new pieces of pizzazz to the packaging and using marketing elements like it's a big "secret" for promotion. This not withstanding, there remains a good deal of potential wealth in these works for those unfamiliar with earlier versions. However, Success Intelligence transcends this collective body of typical prosperity works.

Dr. Robert Holden first shows the reader the errors of the success trap--more for more sake alone. He leverages his personal experience to illustrate the error in the pace as well as the vision held by most entrepreneurs and with a certain brilliant wit shows us how to get more with less.

Over and over again Robert relates one's work with their lives and relationships in ways that build both confidence and respect--confidence in oneself and respect for self and others. The bottom line, create a success vision that is authentic (the real you), liberating, packed with joy and one that does not get lost in "sick hurry."

Is this a good book? Yes. Is this a great book? No.

In a nutshell, this book is basically a self-help on self-discovery. The author talks a lot about vision and purpose in life, but he does not define them. He directs his clients toward self-discovery.

The best part of the book is in chapter 1, "The Manic Society." After that, every chapter seems to be the same. He just talks about the same topic from different angles using different terms. The book is like a two dimensional space, lacking the third dimension and therefore depth or much substance.

In this time of manic busyness, Robert's book is like a breath of fresh air. Do we really need to be so busy, or are we being too busy to notice what's really important and worth our attention - and what isn't? Are we going in a direction that we believe will lead to a better life if we just work enough, sacrifice and struggle enough, or could we be enjoying a more fulfilling and meaningful life now?

These are just a few of the subjects this amazing new book covers. Following on from the highly acclaimed Happiness NOW!, this book adds to the message of following your joy to questioning and deciding what success really means for you. I highly recommend this book.
