Disapointing,
By Bevan N Colless (Tokyo, Kanto Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The SuccessDNA Guide to Real Estate Investment & Management: Essential Advice for Serious Investors (Paperback)
I loved Real Estate Riches as it got my juices flowing ready to expand my Real Estate investments. I couldn't wait for the next Dolf De Roos book, and bought this one as soon as it was available and read it soon after receiving it. What a let-down it was! For starters the writing and editing are extremely poor, including countless typos and double words - I wonder if the book was proof read at all? They have tried to use a conversational style of writing but it comes throug as sloppy. Aside from the writing, 40% of the book describes how to manage properties yourself "a locked letter-box will help tennants drop the rent off without bothering you"....(this is 2003!), before mentioning briefly at the end of the book that you "may want to hire a property manager". So for the 90% of property investors who use property managers (who has got the time or motivation to manage property themselves?) that large chunk of the book is useless. Garret Sutton's legal sections are virtually useless for people outside the US, and there is little or now effort to cater for readers not based in America. However, he does do a good job reccommending his own Bookeeping company to take care of your accounts - with full disclosure, but 4 times throughout the book!! For US residents who have never invested in property before and are about to give up their job to become full time property investors and managers (if such a person exists), you may find this useful, for the rest - you'd be better off re-reading Real Estate Riches.

The only thing good about this book is the cover.,

This is a hideously written book. If you've read Real Estate Riches and/or any of De Roos' books, you'll be reading the same material in this book. This book has no substance. It is all fluff! With all the money De Roos and Sutton make, (in seminars, software, and audio) hopefully they will invest in a more seasoned or professional editor for their books.

I just bought my first commercial property,

I wasn't sure whether to read this book after reading one earlier review (which complained about a few typos in the book...boo hoo).I'm interested in making money in real estate, not getting a grammar lesson, so I read the book and am glad I did. Using some of the lessons in the book, I was able to purchase my first piece of commercial real estate - a Victorian House built in 1904 that I've converted to office space. We are already cash flow positive, and hope to buy another property later this year. I recommend the book - it helped me get started. This is the first book I've ever reviewed on amazon...thank you Garrett Sutton & Dolf de Roos!

DON'T BUY THIS BOOK - Not Worth Your Time,

This review is from: The SuccessDNA Guide to Real Estate Investment & Management: Essential Advice for Serious Investors (Paperback)
Doesn't even Deserve 1 star!!!!Dolf de Roos and Garrett Sutton are Money Hungry Seminar/ Infomercial Con Artists that charge an EXTREME Amount of money for Seminars and other products. They Don't make money from real estate! They Make Money selling their products and $2000 Seminars (That's per person). I've been to these seminars and purchased these books, and I know personally that Dolf de Roos and Garrett Sutton are all about one thing...YOUR MONEY. Not teaching you to make money. Also, this book is very poorly written and proofread. Any one who has read a couple books on real estate could have thrown this together in a few days. It's not Worth Your Time.

This book is more of an overview of what real estate investing is, than a book written for a real estate investor.

A. Kwiatkowski,
This review is from: The SuccessDNA Guide to Real Estate Investment & Management: Essential Advice for Serious Investors (Paperback)
This was a very informative and well written book about real estate and investing. I have found it very useful as a newcomer to the subject and would recommend this book to anyone. There are a few typos, however, they can easily be overlooked as the content of the book is excellent! A must-have book to add to any real estate investor's collection!

This review is from: The SuccessDNA Guide to Real Estate Investment & Management: Essential Advice for Serious Investors (Paperback)
This is perhaps the WORST real estate book that I have ever read. Who edited this book? A first grader? Anyhow, it seems that this was a quickly written book with the sole intent of generating sales. I wanted to learn about real estate, and all I got was a lot of what I already knew. Dolf de Roos is a FRAUD. His personal seminars and Rich Dad Seminars are so expensive, it wonders me as to how people do not realize how MONEY HUNGRY he is as an author. These authors do not want to teach you, they only want to take everything they can get from their readers.

The SuccessDNA Guide to Real Estate Investment & Management is the most valuable resource for me as a Real Estate Investor. Dolf de Roos and Garrett Sutton are not only phenomenal teachers and speakers, but they are also extraordinary writers with established experience in Real Estate Investment. By applying the ideas in this book, anyone can easily build up equity and passive income that will guide you on your road to financial freedom.
