Kirks Nonprofit Consulting Services
This is a wonderful tool that allows you to ask for donations "nicely." I really recommend this book to all who assist charities for a living whether on a professional level or as a volunteer.

Direct Mail Focused
I purchased the book looking for help with charitable fundrasing letter accross broad categories. The book is very detailed, but has a strong focus on direct mail for fundraising. This is the author's background, and the book is very technical with that focused topic.

As soon as I received this book I started reading it. The writing style is so good that anyone can zip right through it. It's informative and each chapter builds on the next. Within 2 days I had a wonderful fundraising letter written and was VERY pleased with how it turned out.

I purchased this book hoping to learn a formula to write successful letters for fundraising for a specific project. Unfortunately, the text turned out to be examples of how to write to solicit donations. You know the junk mail that you get, such as "Please accept these return address labels as a gift... and could you please contribute $25 to our cause?" It's one of those books.Aside from not delivering the information I hoped to gain, the information was redundant throughout the 300 pages of this book.
