About the Author

I grew up in a very agricultural community that included farms, dairies, orchards, cattle ranches and fish hatcheries along with the production plants that packed and put the local grown items on the shelves in the grocery stores. Being around such a host of agriculture during my life I have naturally, been introduced to many various opinions and methods regarding the production of all kinds of food in its raw form. I truly believe as a grown man with a great amount of common sense, I am obligated to pass along a bit of knowledge to help spark some better practices that can be used and built upon for my beloved daughter and her generation, and others that follow.

This is a very nice, little 63 page manual to starting a indoor organic vegetable garden. Anthony leads you through setting up an aquarium for fertilizer, configuring your garden, light and air quality, and common problems and how to fix them. The book has very nice full-color illustrations. However, be warned that there is at least a section missing; page 25 ends with the sentence "Mushrooms need minimal light, lower temps, and some humidity to flourish." , page 26 is an entire page of photos, and page 27 starts with "ready to go. Park Seed Company as well as others sell a nice variety of these..." There's clearly something that belongs between those two pages. Overall it's helpful, but a bit of careful editing, and perhaps a bit more information about plant selection, would do wonders.

A couple of months later: I've decided to add an extra star, for both Author's responsiveness and the general accuracy of the book. The price is still a bit steep for the number of pages, but the information that is presented is very good.

Covers basics, sprouting, lighting, ventilation as well as pollination and has an interesting section on using a fish aquarium as a source of fertilizer.
