Good quality. A great text book considering not only the published date, but also the price of the book. It should be said that books can only help so much, most true learning is done on the court or field!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for those starting out, a good-to-have for those already officiating, September 8, 2011

This review is from: Successful Sports Officiating (Paperback)
This book does a great job of giving practical advise for starting - and active - officials and is not specific to any one sport. Rather, the book uses examples from various sports to illustrate points on topics like Managing Conflict, Positioning, Developing Communications Skills etc.

This book is not meant to replace any of the officiating manuals / rule books for any of the sports but it is written to help the referee maximize their potential in their chosen line of officiating.
