This excellent book goes into great detail about the many situations when fishing for walleye. It is especially good for beginners as it tells the big three, when where and how! The special situation section goes into weeds, rocks, timber, spawning and cold weather. Beautiful illustrations and pictures help explain likely sites to begin looking for fish.

This book is laid out the same as the others in the series. Once you have read the first book such as, "Successful Walleye Fishing" you can skip reading about half of "Successful Bass Fishing" as it is laid out the same with the same topics. The only part that changes is a chapter or two specific to the fish species. If you are relatively new to the game and want an easy to read and very informative book, this is it. However, after the first species look elsewhere for a source of information as you will keep refering to the cover thinking you just read what you are reading.
Lots of great photos and illustrations, easy to read text and can be read in one or two evenings.

Buy the Sternberg books in the Hunting and Fishing Library if you want to learn how to fish. There are numerous and beautiful photographs and illustrations of all the lures and bait to use and where to fish. This is the best walleye fishing book ever!!!

I like it.Lots of good ideas. I carried it to Canada with me on my first Walleye fly in fishing trip.

Really, we read this book when we first got it and have referenced back to it a few times but not as much as I had hoped. It does have pretty good information though.

This book has a ton of information and is a good place to start. I did find however that there is no substitute for experience..
