After the Sub-prime mortgage mess, I really didn't want to get caught in the same traps that many other people fell into when buying a house for the first time. Having taken a first time home buyer's class, I only felt more daunted by the home buying process.

After I read this book though, I finally feel like I have a good grasp of what I need to do and what questions I need to be asking my prospective lenders or brokers. Now I know what a predatory lender acts like, and how they will try to sneak in extra fees on me hoping that I get so emotionally attached to a house that I'll pay it anyway.

Just all in all a great book! The website is very helpful as well. The author seems genuinely interested in helping people do what's best for them too. I emailed him asking if he knew of any honest brokers in my area and so he called me to tell me that he's going to help me find one!

I have a feeling this will be the best $[...] bucks I ever spent.

Straight to the point. Full of great tips. As a first time homebuyer, this book was helpful and informative. Easy to read advice about how to avoid shady mortgage operators and bad deals. Great advice from a well-known consumer rights attorney and mortgae industry expert. Worth every penny.
