Book Description

October 22, 2004
Christopher Chagny, a famous horror writer's son, has been ob-sessed with vampires since the death of his father, a tragic and unexplained event he was too young even to recall. His adoring childhood friend in glasses, Olivia Figaro, can't get Christo-pher to see her as anything but a kid. His obsession is all he notices. Especially now, because Christopher's mother has a publicity stunt in mind that will finally put her son in contact with a genuine vampire. Countess Della Luna, murdered in Italy nearly four-hundred years ago, is an unsolved mystery and fabulous legend among the truest connoisseurs of vampire lore. Christopher is slated to pose for cameras digging up her grave. Years later, L.A. life and an interest in police work land Olivia in a great job as bodyguard to famed teenage TV star Taylor Stockton. Taylor has an obsession with vampires that plunges Olivia straight back into the forgot-ten morass she'd shared with her childhood love, Christopher Chagny. But young Taylor's obsession is based in fear, not rapture. No one be-lieves Taylor was kidnapped a year ago by a real vampire, Olivia included. But as a powerful bond develops between these two, Olivia de-termines to protect Taylor at any cost, even if it means hunting vampires.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cure for a lazy day, May 8, 2005
This review is from: Succulent Crimson (Hardcover)
If you'd like your heart to race a bit while reading, if you'd like to turn the pages of a book breathlessly, if you'd like to be unable to put a book down until you've finished it, then this is a good book for you.

I read Anne Rice, but I'm not obsessive about reading vampire books. This one is well worth the time and money spent. It is fast-paced, well-constructed, and has interesting characters, so you want to find out what will happen to them. Ms. Zeuli knows how to tell a story that is so compelling that you simply MUST finish. Actually, I would compare Ms. Zeuli to Stephen King in her ability to write an accessible, fascinating story so that the pages seem to fly because you sink so completely into the characters and plot. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cynthia Zeuli shines in the world of vampire chroniclers, January 14, 2005

After reading Cynthia Zeuli's "Bound by Blood," I was hooked...or, rather, bitten. Miss Zeuli breathes believeable life into characters that representt the worst nightmare for some, and the pinnacle of beauty and temptation for others. In this novel, she adds a mystery element and expands my slim knowledge of things vampire. For those who enjoy mystery with a touch of horror and more than a little heart pounding sensuality, Miss Zeuli is the author for you. I would highly recommend this and "Bound by Blood."
