Here's a synopsis. You break into two teams. Each team rotates through a reader/clue giver. The reader draws a card which contains five clues and answers. Every answer is a blank & blank answer. For example: A popular children's sandwich? Peanut Butter & Jelly. I gave a relatively easy example but I would say that half or more than half of the questions are quite obscure references.
Each team is given 40 seconds to go through the five clues and guess the answers. Of course, like most games, you can skip around and come back to the more difficult ones. It helps if the reader is loud, articulate and able to emphasize certain parts of the clues for ease of guessing. Whatever the first team misses, the opposing team has the opportunity to steal those answers. Scoring is one point for every correct answer given.
Because we had a hard enough time guessing some of the combinations, we were liberal on the order given. For instance, if the answer was Jake & John, we'd accept John & Jake.
The scoring board and pen provided were almost useless. You're supposed to keep score on a small erasable board with a wet erase marker. Well, the wet erase marker is so wet that whatever you write begins to bead up and disappear by itself.
The game is OK, I definitely wouldn't recommend it to any crowd age 30 and under because many of the clues are generational; as in the Baby Boomer generation and into Generation X.

I didn't even take the game out of the box. After looking at the sample questions on the back of the box, I could see that they were way too easy for adults. No challenge at all. Read morePublished on February 19, 2010 by Mickey in Austin
