A Favorite for Parents and Kids,
By
This review is from: No Such Thing (Hardcover)
We heard this book at Storytime at our local library and fell in love with it. The kids loved the boy and the monster teaching their Moms that there is "such a thing", and all the mothers in the room were laughing at the familiar nightime ritual of little boys-- with a surprise ending. It is my favorite children's book and I think every kid should have it. Let them go to bed laughing about monsters under the bed, instead of being afraid of them.

A laugh-out-loud bedtime story!,
By A Customer

This is so funny, it had four adult women laughing out loud! A little boy on top of the bed and a little monster under the bed are both told by their mothers not to be afraid--there's no such thing as monsters/boys! But the boy hears a snurkle and the monster hears a sneeze, and they KNOW! Delightfully written, with a surprise ending that's perfect. Wonderful pictures, too.

Don't Worry about the Scare Factor,
By
This review is from: No Such Thing (Hardcover)
We've been reading this for many years in our house. My son was much more sensitive to the whole, 'monsters' thing when he was younger but we read this anyway. He found the humor in it and it never bothered him the way other 'monster' books might have.
The premise is that a boy moves into a big, old, spooky house and is afraid of going to bed. But just as he is afraid of the monster under the bed, there is a monster under the bed that is afraid of little boys. The tables get turned and eventually, they both face their fears and each other and dispel the myths of what monsters do to little boys and what little boys do to monsters. The boy and monster end up with the power in the end and play a little trick on their moms. A good book to read that really doesn't add any scare factor, it really takes it away.

Kid humor,

I used this story for years during October to allay children's fears of many things, including monsters. My 3 yr old granddaughter is afraid of monsters right now and we also love to read Go Away Big Green Monster to her.

Entertaining, funny book about a serious issue for parents. Definitely worth a read, especially if your child is afraid of the dark and monsters under the bed.

My son was scared at Halloween by older kids in a costume. We got him this book to help discuss monsters and help him get over his fear. Anytime we want to discuss monsters, we pull out this book and use it to talk about his fears.
