5.0 out of 5 stars Fearless whistleblower on classified weapons, February 3, 2001

This review is from: Such Things Are Known (Hardcover)
Dorothy Burdick's book is amazing and frightening. In 1982, few people were talking about the sort of classified weapons that can affect health, consciousness and functioning of ordinary individuals in their homes. Now, lots are (CAHRA, Raven1, datafilter, as well as various lists). Burdick was an ordinary American services wife and mother trying to understand what she was being hit with. She sounds like a very sane and strong woman, but she found voices coming at her that were not of her own body's generating and which she couldn't explain from the environment. For most people, the path from there is discouraging. It may include pharmceuticals and a label of mentally ill. Burdick's book convinced me that she was on to something. It's hard to get hold of, but this is one published work which could give strength and hope to someone suffering from symptoms which make them worry they might be going mad. Maybe they are hearing seemingly real voices around them, believe they are experiencing Directed Energy Weapons harassment (yes, they exist, look up datafilter), are extremely fatigued, getting aching and sore if they sit around in the house, or even hearing things said or suffering what is now being called syntel (synthetic telepathy). Worth trying to find. I have a copy, but I am not parting with it. There's a vicious hidden war being fought around us, and the assaults I have described are only the milder ones. If truth and justice wins over horror and evil, and I think it will, Dorothy Burdick's book, although it is early and describes only one person's experiences, will be a pioneering classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot going on you don't know about, January 16, 2005
This review is from: Such Things Are Known (Hardcover)
Want to see some of the "Exotic Weapons" spoken about in this book?

Goto http://thomas.loc.gov/

This is the website to the US Library of Congress. Goto the column marked Legislation and click on the link for Bill Text for 101st - 108th Congress. At the top of the next page, click on the link for the 107th Congress (if you don't go to the 107th congress, you will get a bill for baby changing stations. Don't say I didn't warn you). Once at the 107th Congress page, in the Search Engine box marked Bill Number. type in HR 2977 and click search. This will take you to Proposed Bill HR 2977 of the First Session of the 107th US Congress. It was a bill Proposed to keep Outer Space free of Weapons. Scroll down to the bottom and look at the listing of Exotic Weapons to be banned...

The bill passed but was so watered down after it did that it lost all original meaning.

Remember the experiments Bill Clinton admitted to committing on unwilling citizens without their knowledge or consent...you don't know everything.
