Its creamy and tastes like real homemade hot chocolate.
Amazon Customer
The taste is not syrupy or overly sweet, and still has bit of a creamy underlay.

Unfortunately, I didn't read the ingredients before I ordered it.

For those of you that think this hot chocolate tastes like water, I would guess that you are probably the same people that put 4 tablespoons of sugar in a single serving of coffee. To me, this is very good quality hot chocolate that doesn't taste too rich or too watery. It tastes very good by itself without adding milk, sugar, or anything else. As with anything you brew in the Tassimo machine, if you want an even flavor from the first sip to the last, then you need to STIR your drinks. I have used several of these chocolate discs, and never had a problem with chocolate being left over in the disc. Of course, I shake the disc well before the brewing process (per instructions on the packaging).

Additionally, because these discs aren't too sweet OR too watery, it is easy to combine them with other things. I like to use one of these discs along with one disc of Gevalia Espresso and the flavor is awesome. The chocolate doesn't overpower the espresso and the espresso doesn't overpower the chocolate. It tastes great!

Another thing I like to do (especially for the kids) is to line the bottom of the mug with small marshmallows BEFORE you brew the hot chocolate. This way, it melts about half of each marshmallow and leaves the other half floating on top for a really tasty treat. Again, stir your drink for best results.

I'm sure this product would taste great if you added milk to it, but so far I have never felt the urge to do this. That is saying something for such a hardcore milk drinker as myself.

My recipe for using Suchard Hot Chocolate Syrup

In your cup, heat up 1/4 cup of Half & Half in the microwave.
Put 1 large marshmallow in your cup.
Place cup on Tassimo.
Brew your Suchard Hot Chocolate Syrup disk.
Stir.

Makes an easy and rich Hot Chocolate that is worth 5 stars! Yum!

One of the commenters remarked that this has a watery taste - yes, because it is made with water and with milk, like the "real" hot chocolate is supposed to be made of. But is you let one of those milk discs run through the machine after the chocolate syrup, it really improves the taste. And the calories, but what the hack, you chose the chocolate to indulge yourself, not to loose weight, right? I like the taste(with milk) and did not expect otherwise - Suchard is one of the premium chocolate makers in Europe.

Very good hot chocolate but you need to purchase the creamer to use with this product. Otherwise it is just chocolate with hot water.

Obviously, all tastes are not alike. That accounts for some rave reviews of this product and some that would like to give it negative stars. I'm not going to totally hate on the Suchard Hot Chocolate for Tassimo. I think it does have some potential for custom drinks, but I'm just not wild about the flavor of the chocolate in and of itself. It has a bit of an aftertaste or an off-taste that I can't quite put my finger on, but it was unpleasant to me.

At the point where I figured I was going to just dump it out anyway, I added a shot of Caramel Espresso to it, hoping for maybe some new exciting Mocha hybrid - to no avail. The funny taste of the Suchard blazed right through the Espresso, so I added a shot of cream, a squirt of caramel and a dollop of whipped cream. It still didn't taste good.

So here my mug sits on my desk, filling my nose with the fantastic aroma of a beverage I was only able to halfway choke down.

I still have a few of these discs left, so I may play around with this flavor a few more times before totally giving up on it.

Shake, shake, shake, and then shake some more!

Any hot chocolate you make in a Tassimo won't be as good as using whole milk and making hot chocolate the old fashioned way on a stove, but I think this stuff is pretty good. Great when you consider how easy it is. It's perfect for a lazy Saturday morning. We keep the Spinning Tassimo T-Disc Holder stocked with this stuff!

If you are having issues with the machine not fully draining the disc, you either need to remove the nozzle and give it a solid cleaning, or you are not shaking the cup enough. No big worries, however. On the occasion when I do end up with chocolate left in the disc, I just cut it open and pour it into my cup. Stir and drink!

I had high hopes for this product, but was disappointed in the 'watery' chocolate flavor. It reminded me of the over-priced hot chocolate you get at football stadiums. I guess I hoped for a richer, creamier hot chocolate and was less than impressed by the chocolate water I ended up with. The hot chocolate discs also leave a lot of chocolate syrup residue in the brewing unit, which is difficult to remove even with immediate cleaning run-throughs.

I received this as a gift so obviously I gave it a try. It's just okay, nothing special. Land o' Lakes powdered cocoa will give you a richer cup of hot cocoa than this stuff. I read a few people suggesting to add a milk disc to this product, so I might give that a try sometime as I still have some of these discs left.
It's definitely not a horrible product, but I'm not sure it's worth the money you have to pay for these t-discs.
