Geovanni Cotto has it bad for a woman named Crystal Betha. He will do anything to get next to her, just to tell her how he feels. The only problem is, she's in a relationship with a drug dealer named Lex and he doesn't play when it comes to his woman. Geovanni could care less about her boyfriend and endangers both of their lives to prove to her he isn't your average Puerto Rican "white boy". He shows the feelings he has for her are more than just a crush; he's in love with her. What started out as an average hookup on a stereo he installed into her car one day, turns into a battle over drugs, money, and the girl.

I enjoyed Geo's passion in SUCKA 4 LOVE and it shows through the way he tells the story. What starts out as the typical tale about an interracial love story, turns into an interesting story about how much a man will go through to prove his love for a woman and it has little to do with his race. I liked how he kept the tale going with a whole lot of drama, especially between Lex and Geovanni. Some blood was shed, which added a little spice to the drama.

There were problems with excessive semicolon use, where he could've used commas instead. Other than that, the author showcased his talent for hood drama and I enjoyed it. The story had my attention from the very beginning and I wanted to finish it quickly to find out the conclusion.

3.0 out of 5 stars I'll Do Anything For You!, August 15, 2008
This review is from: Sucka 4 Love (Paperback)
Geo is so in love with Crystal, whom he calls Princess, that it doesn't matter all the lives that have been affected by his actions. Geo thinks that it's his job to protect her because he has been in love with her for years. Geo starts a whole turn of events that didn't have to take place had he minded his own business and stop trying to mix races. Geo knew Crystal's father didn't approve of her dating outside of her race and wasn't sure how he would feel about it. Causing a shoot out in the middle of the streets lands Crystal in the hospital, and Geo fighting for his life and freedom.

Sucka 4 Love by Geo is just an okay read. The story itself could have been better had there been a bit more depth to it. When reading the novel, the actions and behavior from the characters just seemed so juvenile and fake. I know that stories are made up. but it just was too unbelievable! Hopefully Geo will get more in-depth with his character development and make his stories more true to life with his future works.
