5.0 out of 5 stars ridiculous!!!
I kept my wife up last night reading this book. I kept laughing out loud!! I love a book that is witty, ridiculous, and gets the joke. Kudos to both authors, I'm on my way to order books by both of them!!

5.0 out of 5 stars These guys are sick., July 28, 2010

These guys are sick. They are twisted. I want to hang out with them. If it turns out they are even funnier than me then I will drink them under the table to show them what's what. Oh, yeah--the book. Necro is the wonderfully awful. It made my husband sound polically correct and I didn't think that was possible. Darn, I'g going to have to get the Jack Daniels books too. Found this one by reading "The List". A little less sick for those faint-of- heart but the dialogue doesn't get better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wacky, Funny and Horrific...Oddball Entertainment!, March 21, 2010

I enjoyed this compilation. The two collaborating authors Joe Konrath and Jeff Strand are wonderful storytellers. Some of the humor is politically incorrect so if you are easily offended this book will probably not be right for you. The authors alternate stories except for the final novella. In Suckers they alternate chapters (sort of).

I liked each story but I must admit that the Harry McGlade character is my favorite. McGlade is an obnoxious supporting character in Konrath's Jack Daniel's series who gives Jack constant grief but who also routinely comes through for her when the chips are down. The Jack Daniel's series begins with:
Whiskey Sour (A Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels Mystery). I recommend reading the Jack Daniel's books in order though each book can stand alone on its own well enough.

I was first introduced to Andrew Mayhem a few years ago when I read Graverobbers Wanted (No Experience Necessary) and Casket For Sale (Only Used Once), An Andrew Mayhem Thrillerby Jeff Strand. These books are available now in Kindle format, also. It just doesn't get any better than that.

The partnership of Harry McGlade and Andrew Mayhem in Suckers worked really well for me - sometimes laugh out loud funny. This is relaxing, no-brain entertainment at it's best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Stories, May 29, 2009

I enjoyed all of these stories immensely.

I will say that I like Konrath's contributions the most.

Unfortunately, this did not make me want to purchase the books that feature the Mayhem character. He was okay in small doses, but I don't think that I could wade through an entire book with him as the main character.

It's my understanding that Konrath's Harry is just a side character in his Jack Daniels' series, so I'm going to give that one a try.

The editing was terrific! It's so nice to see that people CAN self-publish and still provide us with clean, edited work. Other self-published authors should take a page from the books of these two, well, not literally, but you get the picture.

1.0 out of 5 stars I should have been paid for reading it, October 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was by far the worst book ever and I know because I read the whole thing and I have read thousands of books. I wouldn't have finished more than the first chapter except I paid for it and I kept thinking that if people pay for this garbage there has to be something coming that would be worth $2.99. No - it just kept getting more and more stupid. Amazon should have paid me to read it. Worst book ever. Maybe you have to be a fan of these writers and, true, they were new to me, but the entire thing was just totally stupid. Children's imaginations for making up stories far surpass anything written in this book or maybe these authors are children with little imaginations. The unfortunate thing is that I not only bought this but bought another book by them called The List. Now I have to read that to see if it is any way worth $2.99. Don't waste your money on Suckers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A life changing read..., October 18, 2010

Suckers was my introduction to the whacky world of J.A. Konrath and the awesomeness that is Jeff Strand. I enjoyed all of it!

I have a new addiction and that is spending my change on these authors' books, I'm sure they won't be signing any petitions to send me to rehab anytime soon. I doubt I could give this book an objective review, you either love the humour and sickness or you don't. I loved it, so go on, click the buy button. Do it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting for Strand and Konrath to do a follow up to this one!, September 28, 2010
This review is from: Suckers (Kindle Edition)
Konrath and Strand HAVE to do another book combining these characters again! You have to read this book, it is AWESOME. Great story, and the best parts the dry humor talents of Jeff Strand and JA Konrath (two of my favorites). Also, if you haven't read their other books, do so as fast as you can, they are all GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! If you love gore, sick humor and fantastic characters, these are the authors for you. Get the Jack Daniels series of books by Konrath and the Andrew Mayhem series from Strand, THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never laughed so hard, July 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Suckers (Kindle Edition)
Warning this book is not for everyone, it is full of crude humor that some will find offensive. Harry is the best character I have ever read. Andrew is good too, but Harry is one of a kind. If you have read any of the Jack Daniels series and like Harry you have to read this book. I never have laughed so hard as I did at the crazy things that these two great authors have come up with. I hope that Andrew and Harry cross paths again at some point because they truely make a great team. So spend a couple bucks and download this and reccomend it to all your friends who have a sense of humor, and all the people you dislike who are easily offended.
