Kathy Griffin at her funniest...Straight guys, run to your safe place!!,

Oh yes, Kathy Griffin is absolutely hilarious in this new album. If you liked "For Your Consideration", you will be blown away by this even better comedy album. Topics include, Maggie (two-buck chuck) Griffin needs a sturdy German, Katie Couric will cut-a-beotch, Maya Angelou is terrible (poetically speaking), and Joan (your a poka-playa) Rivers on The Apprentice. This is a must for those of you who love comedy albums or have seen her hit Bravo TV show, "My Life on the D-List".
P.S. If you watched the Real Housewives of Orange County this year, wow, you will not be disappointed.

Real Howlers From New Jersey!,

This review is from: Suckin' It For The Holidays (MP3 Download)
Kathy Griffin's new "Holiday" album is a terrific condensation of top material from her new concert tour. She really rocks the house in New Jersey, where the show was recorded for posterity.
The album contains hilarious, all-new sets about everything and everyone surrounding "Planet Kathy," including Superstar Maggie, Maya Angelou, Gayle King, Katie Couric, Donald Trump, Kevlar vests and of course, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." Sacred Cows run away screaming when they hear the pearly tones of Ms. G, and this album really sends the taboos a-runnin'. Honestly, this lady is one helluva performer. We just saw her in concert, with a packed house, and we were almost peeing ourselves. In fact, KG even peed herself! If you can't see Kathy live (which all sentient beings should before they die), this hilarious album is the next best thing. It's about as "Holiday" as the Black Death, but much, much funnier! And check out that cover - lucky St. Nick! If Joan Rivers and Don Rickles had ever had a kid, it couldn't have grown up funnier than Kathy Griffin, the greatest entertainer on the planet.

Funny, but wish it had been better.,

First off, love Kathy Griffin. I've seen her live and own as much of her merchandise as I can justify. That being said, I really wanted to like this album better than I did. The material was funny, but the whole thing just seemed so disjointed. The cuts between bits were incredibly obvious, to the point that I had to check and make sure I didn't have the files on shuffle. The tracks jumped from routine to routine with very little transition.
Basically, this felt like half an album. Or, like one of the Bravo specials where they cut the hell out of the routine to fit it in 45 minutes. Can we please get a full-length show at some point? I know double-cd's are increasingly rare, but for her material? It's kind of necessary.

Really wanted to love it, but...,

Like everyone else here, I am a huge Kathy Griffin fan. Love her reality show, loved her autobiography, love her stand-up (I've seen her live twice, own one of her DVDs, and watch her stand-up specials whenever they come on TV - even if I've already seen the same one three times), love her in general. However, I found this CD to be pretty disappointing. I was surprised that it had nothing to do with any holidays, but I'd be okay with that if the jokes were hilarious. Also, I expected a lot of new material, but there is not much to be found - and I'm so, so sorry to say that the new stuff is just not very funny. I think I laughed out loud twice during the whole CD, and those laughs were at the jokes I've heard before.
I still love Kathy & I'm happy to support all of her projects, but I don't think this CD is worth the money. If you're at all familiar with Kathy's material, I say skip this or be prepared to hear a lot of stuff you've already heard from her.

HOLIDAY cheer from my fave funny lady? YOU BET! If you're a fan of Kathy's you will want to own this beauty. Not only is the cover art fabu, the material is priceless. I loved the bit on Donald Trump. The OC Housewives need to each be given this for Christmas. Just sayin'. Even though Joan Rivers is Jewish, I'm sure Santa would love for her to hear Kathy's take.
Kathy never disappoints. Great Christmas gift for your fine, fun friends. Sit around and listen to her brilliant deliveries together. Better yet, buy two, keep one for you or you'll be sorry.

So, I'm a big KG fan ... really, I am. So, with an album called `Suckin' It for the Holidays', I was hoping we were going to get KG giving these overwrought American holidaze the finger ... but ... we don't get any holiday jokes at all! Not a one. There is some newer material on the Trump family, Justin Timberlake and running into Gail King ... but a lot of this stuff ... particularly at the beginning ... we have heard before in her live shows, Bravo specials and even some on "D-List" (like the Mom Maggie stuff) ... come on, Kathy ... give us the naughty Christmas material that I know you have in you.

Although We get Kathy Decked out in Holiday Garb on the cover (ok, It was released just in time so she be in time for Grammy Nominations) Kathy is funny 12 months of the year. I love both her cds and you can enjoy it year long!

This isn't her best work, but it is still pretty funny. I mainly didn't find this as good as other specials [or even her last CD] because it focused on a lot of things I didn't know much about. Like all the Real Housewives of Shows. Definitely worth it for any big Kathy fan though. I enjoyed it regardless.

Kathy's Fun Holiday Show--real housewives unfamiliar to me though,

I enjoyed this show by Kathy. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as her last few shows though. This might be because I have never watched these reality housewives tv shows. Kathy has extended riffs about these shows which left me a bit in the dark as I didn't know who any of these people were. When she mentioned the actual tv show of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, I recognized that. However, it was the reality housewives of CA, NY and NJ who she covered in detail. The remainder of the show was more familiar material, including a fair amount of material with her mother Maggie. The celebrities she riffs on are Donald Trump and his daughter, Oprah and Gail, Justin Timberlake and Suz Ormann. Those were good but not as good as when she covered in the prior album the Woz, Cher, Rosie, et al. I also could have used a little more material. It seemed short as a show to me. But I always enjoy her, even with this material which is not right up my own personal alley.
