Useful and eloquent,
This review is from: Sudan: The Bradt Travel Guide (Paperback)
I recently visited Sudan and somebody gave me this book.
I only saw Khartoum, Omdurman and the ancient sites of Naqa and Meroe. However for these locations and for the general backgrounds on Sudan and the conflicts that still rage there the book gave excellent and very up to date backgrounds. It is practical on the ground, but after returning I decided to get a copy for myself as a reference book. There are just the minor details which will need a correcion for the moment, like recently some new hotels opened. And the Greek-Orthodox church mentioned turned out to be a Coptic church, and apart from the Sufi zikr location mentioned in Omdurman, Khartoum's twin city, there are numerous other zikrs, but those perhapt should be kept secret for tourism. Amsterdam, Neil van der Linden
