5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing book of poems, September 10, 2008
By
This review is from: The Sudden Architecture of the Dark (Custom Words) (Paperback)
One of the things I appreciate most about this poetry book is the reflection of Philadelphia through the eyes of the poet. That's not what the book is about, but being from the city and reading specific names of streets or just description of places i know...it was comforting. This work is dense...in that you can't just fly through it and expect to know everything. You have to read - really read, underneath and between the lines. They were very interesting, and yuo find yourself rereading them and finding more there than you initially have thought. These poems make you think...about the author, about his experiences, about how you can relate. They are raw, and complex, intelligent and beautifully written. I recommend it to any poetry lovers. I'm very proud of my professor, that he reached for the sky and grabbed a star, and was kind enough to put it on paper and share it with the world!
