Sudden Blow - A Canadian with Attitude!,
By Nick - Former Book Store owner (Listowel, Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sudden Blow (A Jane Yeats Mystery) (Paperback)
Here's a new Canadian author to watch for! Jane Yeats, a Toronto journalist with an attitude, a dog, and a Harley, is one of the neatest characters I've read about in a while! Sure, she has addictions and uses colorful language, but she has a most eclectic entourage of friends, wit, and a tenacity and frankness not often encountered in literature! Told in the first person, we get a great view of the world of modern Toronto and surrounds, with it's upper and lower crusts, characters just like us, and the brutal murder (of a deserving victim!) to unravel before the wrong person gets convicted, or Jane gets killed! I laughed and shuddered while devouring this first novel, and I'm glad to hear that there's another Jane Yeats novel in the works!
