From School Library Journal
Grade 4-6-A biography of the young underdog skater who won the gold medal in Salt Lake City in the 2002 Winter Olympics. While most of the text is written in somewhat breathless prose about the athlete's drive and determination ("But-but-Sarah and her coach knew there was more to it"), the book will still appeal to fans of the sport and to young skaters dreaming of their own moments in the spotlight. The few black-and-white photos are only mildly interesting. A technical quibble: a salchow landing should be on the opposite foot, not the same foot as mentioned in the appendix.
