Grief stricken in the wake of her father's death, Helen Macdonald seeks comfort in adopting his passion, falconry.

Book Description

Michael Jackson died with six different drugs in his body, and the coroner stated that Propofol intoxication and the benzodiazepine effect produced by Lorazepam were the causes of death. What are the effects of these drugs, and why was Michael Jackson using them the day he died? Why did Michael Jackson start abusing prescription drugs in the first place, and how did years of prescription drug abuse make his death more likely? How could Michael Jackson have avoided death? The nineteen chapters in this book include the complete text of the Los Angeles Coroner's anesthesiology consultation report, their summary of toxicological findings, nontechnical descriptions of the drugs that led to Michael Jackson’s death, explanations of key medical concepts and over a hundred references from medical, pharmacology and toxicology journals.

The upcoming trial of Michael Jackson's doctor will hinge on various types of medical evidence. Those who want to understand the nature and significance of the medical evidence that emerges during the course of the trial will find that this book explains medical concepts relevant to the death of Michael Jackson using easy-to-understand, nontechnical English that can be understood by readers who do not have a scientific background.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read that Explains so Much September 19, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I was surprised at how much in detail this book went into explaining each medication found in Michaels Jacksons' cause of death.

This book explains uses of the medications, side effects and even how the fatal results happened to Michael Jackson because of how medications interacted.

The more I turned the pages, the more I did not want to put this book down.

This book also explained what should of been used to help Michael sleep. Its an over the counter hormone that is sold, and which our body produces, sometimes not enough of.

This book is definately not boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was surprised.... November 9, 2011

First of all the book is only $0.99. How good could it be? But I'm a BIG MJ fan so how bad could it be?

This book is informative to the point of being a text book but it is not at all boring and extremely readable. I read it in 2 sittings. Only because my reading session was interupted by my wonderful family.

The "It Might Have Been..." epilogue alone is worth the cost of admission. I loved this book.

If you're a fan. Buy it!

This book was nothing like what I expected based on the product overview. I do not recommend this book at all. Save your money for other MJ books.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some Unnecessary Opinions January 6, 2013
By Sandy
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Okay, describing the drugs that the coroner found in Michael's body was one thing but it sounded to me like Mr. Dolan was saying Michael had been an alcoholic for years. How can he say that? Also, he kept saying that Michael only weighed 120 pounds. If I'm not mistaking, the coroner's report said his weight was 136 pounds. I mean, how can he sit there and talk about how bad Michael's diet was and hinting of anorexia. Why can't these people write a book about all the great humanitarian things Michael did and just remember him for the good loving man that he was? This book kind of upset me.
