Ashley Kimbrough is content with her life. She is independently wealthy and owns her own business. Satisfied with how her life is headed, she doesn't expect marriage to happen to her. Plus, she has The Channel, a clandestine women's-only cable network that caters to the fantasies of its viewers; so, her sex life is exceedingly fulfilling, as well. She has no interest in meeting men for marriage, until she meets with her advisors and is told the devastating news that her inheritance is in jeopardy unless she finds a husband. Completely thrown off guard, Ashley has no idea what she is going to do or how she is going to fulfill the terms of her meddling grandfather's will. Enter Ryan Mulcahy, who has an agenda all of his own.

Businessman and workaholic, Ryan Mulcahy finds himself in a similar predicament due to his father's will. It seems that in order to inherit and be in control of the company Ryan has made successful, he must find a wife by the time he is forty or his company will be sold and his sisters will benefit from the sale. Since Ryan's business acumen is the reason why the family company has been successful, he refuses to allow his sisters to reap what he has sown. Calling upon his lawyer, Ray, Ryan and he discuss his options and it seems that Ray has a cousin whose client is in the same boat as Ryan. One phone call later and the lawyers have set up a meeting between Ryan and Ashley Kimbrough to discuss the details of their "marriage of convenience".

I remember buying and reading books written by Bertrice Small when I was in college. Every book of hers I have read contained explicit and completely steamy love scenes where there were strong heroines and even stronger heroes. SUDDEN PLEASURES, while not a historical, is no less sensual and awe inspiring. Full of emotions and unruly feelings between Ryan and Ashley, I set in for an entertaining read - I got that and more. I loved how the characters started their marriage so nonchalantly thinking they would be able to contain themselves and not find love in their lives together. Ms. Small writes every character realistically and with realistic faults.

SUDDEN PLEASURES is the third book in Ms. Small's contemporary erotica Pleasures series, I recommend wholeheartedly reading the first two installments for enjoyment; but it is not necessary to enjoy this novel to the fullest. I am still and will always remain a faithful Bertrice Small fangirl.

What a wonderful book!!! You may need to read the first two books Bertrice Small has written to understand "The Channal". This is a great series with lots of explicit encounters. Great bedtime reading!!!

This book was A LOT better than 'Forbidden Plessures' (terrible book). I think it's the best book in the 'Pleasures' series. I'm not sure how I really feel about the series. When I read these books I always feel like there is something missing. I did like Ashley and Ryan but their romance is forgettable. This book was good for a quick read but the love story is not one I'm going to remember.

Very good. Start to finish. Ashley is an example of a woman who can get it right. Racy and funny with a story line. I'm in love the Ryan. His sisters are a piece of work. Way to go girl.

I love all Bertrice Small books. This series made my laugh! The best thing to do is read this series with a friend and talk about the "channel" you'll laugh like crazy!

I love the Pleasures Series but I really didn't like this particular book. The romance was between the main characters wasn't interesting to me. And the subjects in The Channel just weren't my style. I wouldn't choose not to buy this book based on this review. I'd check it out for myself. But I didn't like this book.

I never thought to associate B Small with contemporary fiction. She has done an amazing job of incorporating her historical eroticism in these contemporary novellas with a little touch of the forbidden. I have read each one and love them all....can't wait for the next one. Who will sell her soul next?????

I really liked this book. Great adventure as typical of Bertrice Small. I can't wait for the other Border Lord books to come out. I would have to say that by far Bertrice Small is my favorite author.

I bought about 9 various Beatrice Small books for my mom to read. She is an avid reader and fan of Beatrice's books. I can't speak about the book itself, but I am pleased with my ability to order all the books that she needed to complete out the series. She was elated to receiver her shipment of new books. No complaints!

This was my first Bertrice Small's book and I have to say I love it. Although not quite 5 stars since I thought there could be a little more dramas to it. I do enjoy the Channel, it's a different world, a world that I'm sure we women need from time to time. Wouldn't that be divine? I can imagine my own story already. *sigh*

As for the hero and heroine... I have to say I absolutely love Ashley. She sounds pretty sexy and daring and not to mention a woman worthy of being called a woman. She's successful and will be damn to let anyone take what she put so much heart and effort into, even if he is her dead relative. As for Ryan? One word: Sizzling Hot! Ok that was two but two perfect description!

I'm glad I found and read this book first before going back to read Forbidden Pleasure. I would so hate to miss out on a good book.
