Excellent Debut Album for an Up and Coming Band,
By Vincent Fu (Utah, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Suddenly (MP3 Download)
Overall, "Suddenly" is probably the best debut album a band could ask for. Featuring upbeat rhythm and high energy intrumentation/vocals, Suddenly showcases the band's fun-loving spirit. Overall album rating = A+---------------------- HEY, PRINCESS - One of the more popular songs on the album. Features punk influences, a subtle use of paired vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, extensive vamping, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation, major key tonality, electric rhythm guitars, and a subtle use of strings. 10/10 rating. A DIFFERENT SIDE OF ME - Allstar Weekend's first studio-produced track. Features basic rock song structures, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation, and major key tonality. 9/10 rating. DANCE FOREVER - The most popular song on this album, first released as a single before "Suddenly" came out. This song features electronica influences, a subtle use of vocal counterpoint, a subtle use of paired vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, interweaving vocal harmony, extensive vamping, a clear focus on recording studio production, major key tonality, electric rhythm guitars, prominent use of synth, subtle use of fender rhodes, and upbeat lyrics. 11/10 rating. CLOCK RUNS OUT - Probably the least popular song on the album, but still has a very catchy chorus. Features punk influences, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhythmic syncopation, varying tempo and time signatures, extensive vamping, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation, major key tonality, a vocal-centric aesthetic, and heavy electric rhythm guitars. 8/10 rating. AMY - A nice, rock-style ballad. All I have to say is if someone is named Amy then this is the song for them. Features acoustic rock instrumentation, punk influences, mild rhythmic syncopation, acoustic rhythm piano, use of a string ensemble, extensive vamping, major key tonality, a vocal-centric aesthetic, acoustic rhythm guitars, and romantic lyrics. 9/10 rating. JOURNEY TO THE END OF MY LIFE - An upbeat look to the future. Features basic rock song structures, punk influences, mild rhythmic syncopation, extensive vamping, major key tonality, electric instrumentation, and a subtle use of vocal harmony. 10/10 rating. THE WEEKEND - What can you do on the weekends that you can't do during the week? This is the perfect song to wrap up the album with. Features basic rock song structures, punk influences, extensive vamping, a vocal-centric aesthetic, a subtle use of vocal harmony, mild rhytmic syncopation, electric instrumentation, heavy electric rhythm guitars, and a major key tonality. 10/10 rating. -------------------- This album is worth every penny. It might even be a little too inexpensive for such great-sounding, feel-good music. Every song explodes with positive energy. *Individual song 'features' from the Music Genome Project*

Great CD!,
This review is from: Suddenly (Audio CD)
I love this CD! "Suddenly" is finally a CD I can rock out throughout the entire time. Perfect for a summer drive in the sun or background music while lying out at the pool! All Star Weekend completely reminds me of Blink 182 and Yellowcard who I also love. The CD also has an Internet feature when you put in into your computer which is cool since it takes you to their official site, facebook, twitter etc. It's an awesome CD with great features that I would definitely check out! I recommend listening to "A Different Side of Me" even though all the songs are great!

This review is from: Suddenly (Audio CD)
I am a big fan of Allstar Weekend and have Suddenly Yours and All the Way. I wanted to get Suddenly so I can finish off my collection. I heard they made a demo CD when they were just Allstar, but can't find it. But I love it, even if the songs are on Suddenly Yours as well!
