Tropical paradoxes, and personal paradoxes interweave in Edith's mesmerizing book. I found it hard to put down once I started reading it. She weaves personal stories with "wisdom metaphors" that both soothe and disturb--reminding me that everyone and everything has a shadow side...even a Caribbean island. (I loved the hard truths and poignancy in the story of the whales and the wild chickens.)

She brings up important questions: how do we abandon each other long before a relationship is lost? And why don't we always speak our truths in the moment? There's much to think about here.

As the author of a new book: "North Node Astrology; Rediscovering Your Life Direction and Soul Purpose" I found Edith's book to resonate with the poignant chapter on relationship in my book as well. We both look deeply into the shadow side of ourselves and our relationships to find the ways to heal, rediscover, and renew our lives. Love and betrayal in relationship with individuals or groups is complicated, and perhaps in the end we find, as she says: 'That life by itself is all the applause I really need.' Well done, Edith!"

I read this book in 2 days (a record for me) because I couldn't put it down. I loved the plot line and all of the life lesson metaphors. The island life is intriguing, and I never knew how scandalis it can be. Amanda is very brave to pour her heart out. I love how this book can help other women over come betrayal.

As a brazilian, I found Suddenly Single very applicable to the environment I live. All women should read this book and learn with Amanda how to find self love through a sorrowful experience.
