Book Description

On her wedding day, Veronica Sinclair thinks she has it all: the loving family, the Vera Wang dress, the hunky husband. But then a mysterious and beautiful woman shows up at the reception, suggesting Veronica's new hubby isn't exactly who he says he is. As if that weren't enough, Veronica and Richard must flee gunmen in the middle of their honeymoon, convincing Veronica she got more than she bargained for when she said, "I do."

Thrown into a world of espionage, seduction, and human trafficking, Veronica must fight for the life and husband she thought she had - and she must discover whether they are the life and husband she truly wants.

Don't miss Heather Huffman's other books: Throwaway, Jailbird, Ring of Fire, Ties That Bind, Tumbleweed, and the newly-released Devil in Disguise!

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I am enamored with these characters... Veronica is that kind of character you can't help but admire thanks to her determination, strong will and kind heart.  Richard is another male figure to swoon over....He'd do anything to keep his wife safe and close to him and the way he shows his love to her gave me butterflies in the stomach in more than one scene."  - Bookish Temptations

"I am in love with this book. All the characters had depth from Veronica's dog-sitter to her baby obsessed mother... It has the romance and the twist and turns... I cannot stop raving about it to everyone I see." - Books Libros Love

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down! October 4, 2011

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written, the dialogue was fun to read, and the story constantly moved forward. The underlying story of human trafficking felt very real and moving. Got her book Throwaway as a kindle freebie, then immediately had to find what else Ms. Huffman had written. I was not disappointed, now can't wait for another one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story! September 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read this after reading and loving Throwaway and it met all of my high expectations. Even though I couldn't personally identify with the characters, I thought of them as people I would love to be friends with. I especially liked Heather Huffman's use of banter in her dialogues. I read the entire book in one day and can't wait to read Ties That Bind. The books also gave me a website where I donated money to the abused women and girls that are written about so movingly. I strongly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! March 14, 2012

I loved this book, I felt like I should be doing something powerful like Ronnie! I have read a few of Heather's books now and really love her writing style. The women in her books are strong despite the fact that life isn't fair and stronger BECAUSE of this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute, well written! October 7, 2011
By Caro
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book because I read this author's other book and loved it. The plot was unique and the writing well done. A woman is approached on her wedding day by another mysterious woman who calls her new husband by another name. She starts to doubt whether she actually knows her husband and considers an annulment. Unfortunately before she can address the annulment they are gunned down which starts a turbulent adventure. The only part I didn't like was her brother who seemed like a male slut. I could have done without that detail. I would read other books by this author when she publishes them.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's fiction June 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Last I checked, fiction is fiction. It doesn't have to be believable, it just has to be well written and tell a story. That's what this author does. Don't believe the one and two star reviews, this book is good!

This was a good page turning story and I enjoyed the fact that it's quite an unusual kind of plot. I also like that the author managed to showcase the issue of the current slave trade without compromising the story line. This was another great free book find, and I then happily went and bought the Throwaway which is one of the earlier books in the series. I'm currently making way through the rest of her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars riveting page turner May 28, 2012

This well written novel is a fun read, with interest and intrigue. This story would make a GREAT movie, one that would have you gasp at times, sit at the edge of your seat, and wonder "Who, What, Where, When" as the scenes unfold. You will find yourself moving into the book as a quiet, invisible onlooker.
Read it, you'll like it. It reads quite quickly.

Heather Huffman's books are great and she didn't disappoint with this one. It pertains to real issues as all of her books do. Add a little romance and a lot of action and you'll fall in love with this book.
