Sudoku is a type of logic puzzle that has been popular in Japan for about 20 years. However, the world has caught on to the challenge of sudoku. Sudoku means "single number" in Japanese, but the puzzles are also known as "Number Place" in the United States. Despite using numbers, this is not a mathematical puzzle. Logic skills and a lot of time and patience are needed to solve sudoku.

The Puzzles Have More Than One Solution- Disappointing,

I bought the level three book.I bought it because I enjoy Sudoku puzzles and this one is small enough to fit in my small purse and spiral-bound for ease of use. However, the puzzles are disappointing, because usually there is only one place for each number in each square and line, but in this book, toward the end of the puzzle I find there is more than one place for some of the numbers to go. In other words, there can be more than one solution. I have solved eight or so of the puzzles and most of them are this way. I am ready to throw out this book. Oh well, it was a waste of only $2.00.

One of the criteria for a Sudoku puzzle is that it has one unique solution. I have attempted approximately 25% of the puzzles in this book and have found that 2/3 of those do not have a unique solution. (Most of the offenders are near the beginning of the book.) Therefore, it seems that this book does not contain true Sudoku puzzles and is NOT a real Sudoku book. Don't waste your pennies or your time.

This book is so great for the person on the go. You can keep it in your pocket, your purse, or your car for easy access. My only regret is that I can't find them anymore. I would do them over and over again if I could still buy them. I travel a lot and have done them in the car from MI to GA. They help make the time on the road go by quickly.
