This review is from: Sudoku to Go!: 3 Pocket Pads to Take Anywhere (Paperback)
I like doing sudoku when I travel (especially on long flights), and this book, which consists of three pads (more on that later) is superb for that. These are the human mind and hand generated sudoku from Nikoli which are truly fun from beginning to end, whether easy or super-hard, or in between.I would love these sudoku in any format, and I do like a variety of difficulties for travel, to adapt to the particular distraction factor. But these are better than any others because of the pad format. Each pad has 100 puzzles, two sets of 50 each. The first pad is easy/medium (50 each), the second pad is medium/hard, and the third pad is hard/very hard. If you do the math, you will see there are 50 each of easy and very hard, and 100 each of medium and hard. The pad format is great for two reasons. One is that the pads are easy to tuck into a purse or pocket. The second is that you can pull off the "done" pages and toss them (who saves solved sudoku?). Each pad has instructions in the front. They are all the same, so you can toss at least two, or toss all three once you've internalized any hints you didn't know yet. So the pads get slimmer and lighter as you use them, another travel plus. The problem is I'm enjoying these puzzles so much I'm having a hard time saving them for my next trip. |
