After waiting three years for this new studio album since their last production, it would be logical to think that Belanova was in the studio creating a new masterpiece at the ranks of 'Cocktail' and 'Dulce Beat.' Their last album, 2007's 'Fantasia Pop' spawned various hits but musically the concept was rather plastic. It turns out that 'Sueño Electro' is possibly the sequel to the 2007 release and quite disappointing. The singer Denisse Guerrero has adopted a childlike voice which lacks the emotion of her lower whispers of 'Dulce Beat.' There are no obvious highlights in this release, although 'Y mi corazon' is nevertheless digestible. With various acts entering the electronic music genre and the veterans like David Guetta, Kaskade, Stuart Price, and acts like La Roux, Hurts, Royksopp, and Robyn one can notice that Belanova has been left behind instrumentally. Belanova could benefit with collaborating with top producers and top writers. They still have hope. Belanova exploits the fact that they are possibly the most popular band in the electro genre in Mexico and have gone ahead to produce recyclable material that will most likely let the fans down. At the end, listening to 'Sueño Electro' felt like a chore, and this is written by one of their biggest fans. Hopefully the second part makes up for this failure .

Excellent cd with beautiful vocals and slick catchy Latin songs. I was impressed with the singers ability to get my attention. I know this group is young and is aimed at the younger generation but manages quite well to touch the older generation with a beautiful innocence and style.

I wasn't dissapointed at all by this new album, the only thing I didn't like was the fact that there's no pictures inside and the lyrics are missing too, but I think that's only in the US version of the CD. I gotta admit this album doesn't beat Dulce Beat (best album in my opinion) but it definitely beats Fantasia Pop which was a disappointment. Anyway, just listen to the album yourself.

I have been a fan of Belanova's infectious brand of electropop, but I never imagined they would get this good. The music is intense, with the synth sounds sometimes almost orchestral. "La noche es solo par mi" and "No me voy a morir" are two of the best pop song I've ever heard. There are many other high points, with Denisse giving it everything, and then some more, and the final track, piano solo and vocal, is just a masterpiece. This must be just about as good as pop gets.
