5.0 out of 5 stars I just wanted to say this, January 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Suerte / Spanish Only (Audio CD)
the person who reveiwed this cd before me defenitley doesn't speak spanish. The song is basically saying the same thing in spanish as it does in english, in fact i like the song 100x better in spanish becuz it has more feeling, it has more passion, it means a lot more. I think Shakira should just stick to spanish, she is obviously not the same shakira as before. I won't deny it, she looks good, but, her music in english doesnt make much sense

5.0 out of 5 stars making a song lose it's meaning, April 21, 2003

This review is from: Suerte / Spanish Only (Audio CD)
Okay, like it was said before... it's obvious that some of you people don't speak Spanish as your native language (or even know much of it), and you're trying to translate Suerte into english... honestly doing this, can make you lose the feeling you get when you hear the song in Spanish... when you "understand" what the song means (although again is pretty much the same thing in english version only the chorus different) you hear the true meaning...
I mean there's nothing wrong with understanding what a person is saying in Spanish... but if you translate every word, for sure it'll lose what kept you listening to it before you "translated" it.
I'm a native speaker of Spanish and rythym and lyrics arent even half of what any kind of music means, or how it makes you feel... It's a feeling which is probably one of the hardest things to explain... like love...

3.0 out of 5 stars obsolete item, January 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Suerte / Spanish Only (Audio CD)
Only a collector should look for this item. Music lovers should purchase the 2-song "single" CD instead, with both "Suerte" and "Whenever Wherever" on it. Then you can form your own opinion of which chorus you prefer, and how closely the verses are translated!
