Book Description

Kate Freeman opened the front door of her vacation villa to see a Florida State Trooper standing on the porch. A few moments later, 50,000 paralyzing volts shot through her body. Her world went dark after her head impacted the tile floor.

She woke unable to move. Sitting only a few feet away bound to a chair, her six-year-old son sat quietly staring at her. It was just the beginning of their hellish nightmare.

150 miles away, Kate’s husband Paul was on his annual scuba trip in the Bahamas. Early the next morning, he pulled away from the dock and headed back to the villa on Sugar Loaf Key to be reunited with his family. He would be the first to find them – exactly as the killer planned.

“Suffer” is a crime thriller that shows what ordinary people are capable of doing when faced with unimaginable evil. Decisions have to be made that take them deeper into the darkness of a sociopath’s world. It’s a place they have to travel in order to hunt him down and make the punishment fit the crime.

Few expected her to survive. Nobody expected her to fight.

5.0 out of 5 stars He's done it again!!! November 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
In reading Borton's first novel, Abomination, I knew I was going to be a true Borton Fan. Not only has he done it again, but he's outdone himself. Suffer is absolutely amazing! I had it read from cover to cover in 3 days, as I dare to say it is better than Abomination. Suffer is a fast paced, edge of your seat, nail bititng read. I caught myself literally holding my breath throughout several parts of the book and at times cried as I completely empathized with the characters. Borton plays on your emotions and shocks you with a burst of adrenaline on every single page. Just read the first 2 chapters and you'll be hooked!! Borton is the M. Night Shyamalan of novels. Watch out Patterson and Koontz! You have some new competition!! -LIB

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read! July 9, 2013

This is one of the the first books I've read by this other. I was a little skeptical, after reading a few pages the author draws you into the story. I couldn't put it down, that's a rarity these days. I enjoy this book and it's author, that I've suggested it to several friends and co workers! Give it a try, you won't be sorry......
Believe me, it holds your interest immensely.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal, heart racing page turner! December 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
E.E. Borton brings this book to life! From the opening chapter, to the very last sentence of the book, I was unable to put the book down. There were several times I felt my heart racing and felt like I was actually there with the characters in the book. Borton does a wonderful job with the plot, ensuring the reader has a seamless, believable journey. He has a unique way of webbing the characters together so there are no gaps in the story. This is a thriller I highly recommend to all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never a dull moment July 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read hundreds of mystery books, and this was my first attempt with E.E. Borton....excellent author. Just when you think you've figured out the plot, there is some type of turn. This was a nice twist, most you can predict from afar. Can't wait to read his other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Appropriate Title July 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Excellent book. Excellent story telling. Suspense that keeps you reading, keeps you up at night, and keeps you reading even when you're supposed to be working! Even though I would place myself in the squeamish category, I would not recommend for the squeamish at heart. I liked this book so much that I'm now getting ready to read Without by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read April 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book kept me turning the pages. Very gruesome but fitting. I would definitely recommend this book if you are not squeamish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! March 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The day Kate Freeman opens her door to a sociopath disguised as police officer changes her life forever. Her son is murdered and she is left for dead with little hope of survival. This dark tale shows how far one woman will go to seek revenge. Although it was a good story, it is not for the squeamish and it did tend to drag in spots.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed September 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I borrowed this book through Amazon Prime and would have been unhappy if I had paid for it. The book started strongly but quickly lost focus. Toward the middle there was a lot of repetitive page-filling conversation, and I was soon skimming pages trying to find the story. The opportunity for a couple of sub-plots were never developed, and there were no clues as to the identity of the 'bad guy'. I finished the book because of the potential for a strong ending, but I was disappointed. This is not a book for the squeamish, and I don't recommend it to anyone looking for civilized justice and the goodness of mankind.

On the positive side, this author has imagination, talent and skill at character development. He just needed someone skilled with a wicked red pencil to edit this story into all it could have been. I wish him well, but I doubt I will be reading any of his other works.

Okay, writing. A little crude on the descriptions and not to many twists in the story, but kept my interest going.
