About the Author
Shaikh 'Abd al-Qadir is widely known by the honorific, 'the Sultan of the Saints (awliya) of Allah'. In the history of the Saints of Islam, Shaikh Abd al-Qadir stands out as being unique, in the broad scope of perfection that includes his lineage, his complete development, piety, knowledge of the religion and adherence to the Sacred Law (Sharia), his intimate and direct knowledge of the Divine, and his establishment by the Lord of All the Worlds at the level of Reality (Haqiqa). Shaikh 'Abd al-Qadir lived almost a thousand years ago, but his words transcend the time and place in which they were recorded to span the centuries without difficulty.

This beautifully produced and superbly translated set of five books is certainly one of the greatest gifts of the Oriental mystical treasury to Western seeker of Divine wisdom. The inspired utterances of As-Sayyid Abdul Qadir Jilani, known as the Greatest Intercessor and one of the greatest saints of the Islamic world, reveal the depth and sublimity of Islamic Sufi teachings. Analyzing the states of the heart, the stages of progress of the Seeker on the Way and giving pithy advice on conquering desires and defeating the enemy within while ascending through spiritual states and stages with the support of the remembrance of God in the Sufi tradition, these volumes are a literal encyclopedia of Islamic mystical teachings and secrets. Like Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, Sayyid Abdul Qadir Jilani is one of the 'open secrets' the Western world has been desperately seeking. Excellent guidance - the title sums it up!,

This 5 Volume set contains a wide range of topics and I must say that I have certainly found much guidance for some of the difficult questions that I have had without having to read through much of the material. The organisation of the topics in the various volumes has also been skillfully done making information easy to access. While the advice is simply presented and is not hard to understand it is also deep and beautiful with the author tackling many difficult topics. The author also presents advice on many every day issues such as behaviour of a Muslim in a variety of situations. This collection is an essential referance for anyone who wants to remain on the one and true path.
