I hadn't noticed the length of the book before I ordered it - I bought it when looking for books to help me improve myself based on my high opinion of its translater (Faraz Rabbani) and by the fact that I kept seeing its name around the internet. When it arrived, I was surprised by its short length, and I was almost disappointed. However, I found this quality to be perfect - I have now read it through several times just over the past couple of weeks since I bought it. The book wastes no space: it is just hadiths organized by topic (e.g. "On Renunciation & Scrupulousness" and "On Warning Against Base Character") with commentary on each topic in general and certain critical hadiths within. The book is great as both a reference for hadiths which form the base of Sufism and as a source for insightful commentary. If you ever reflected on hadiths like "From the excellence of a man's Islam is leaving that which does not concern him" and wished you could benefit from more guidance, you absolutely need this book.

Sufism and Good Character is a short work that leaves one wanting to read it over and over again.

The basis of the book are sayings of the Blessed Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) with insightful, wise commentary by Imam Zafar Uthmani. These carefully selected sayings leave one blessing the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) because of both the text of the hadith, but also many times over because of the beauty of his sweet words.

Beautifully translated and bound, Sufism and Good Character makes for an excellent gift!

This book is beautifully translated by someone who clearly has a mastery over both English and Arabic.

Clear and concise, this book is not a daunting read for those who want to know but don't want a doorstop!
