Wonderful blowing session of bebop classics by master musicians. Great solos by Phil Woods - this is a perfect example of the true depth of his playing with nice lyrical phrasing. Excellent trumpet solos by Ray Copeland and the piano of Ray Garland round out the set here.
This was a 1957 session, apparently remastered in 1994. The recording quality while not perfect is still quite good and an enjoyable listen. Highly recommended - grab it if you can! |
