I am the type of person that always likes to be snacking on something. I have tried numerous diets and tricks. They all work for a while, but I always go back to the old way. So I started working out in the gym. I was still having trouble taking off the pounds. One day a friend gave me this book to read. I couldn't believe how much sense it made. So the next day I started watching my sugar grams. I am shocked to find how my sugar you eat without even thinking about it. So now I limit my sugar grams and I truly am not snacking anymore. Before I was constantly thinking about what I could eat next, but now I am not hungry like I was. And if you are not hungry, guess what--you don't eat! I am excited about this book and recommend it to all. Thanks S. J. Wise!

As a personal trainer I spend countless hours discussing diets and their effects on the body. I am often asked about healthy substitutes for unhealthy foods. This books makes it easy. It not only explains, in simple terms, how sugar effects the body but gives real life substitutes that actually work to relieve the cravings. I actually give this book to my most addicted clients and it has worked wonders. This book is an essential read for all trainers who are serious about helping their clients succeed.

This is a good book to keep on the kitchen counter during the Christmas holidays and anytime you are tempted to O.D. on sugar! Author S.J. Wise has written a personal, practical, user-friendly book to motivate cookie addicts to step into a happier, healthier, sugar-free lifestyle. Living in a culture where sugar addiction is wide-spread and accepted, we'd all be wise to keep this book handy as a frequent reminder that sugar is a drug, not a food.
