This manga interested me the moment I first saw the anime Sugar Sugar Rune on TV. I've seen a few Sugar Sugar Rune manga in the local stores here but I doubted buying it at first. Seeing the anime triggered my interest in buying the manga.

What I like about the Sugar Sugar Rune manga is the unique art style by Moyoco Anno. So, even if you're not a fan of the storyline of Sugar Sugar Rune you can still enjoy the art and at least you won't regret buying the book. Also, Sugar Sugar Rune is not only for kids but adults can enjoy too. (I am one, after all. Hehe!)

As for the story in this volume, Chocola's still the funny and spirited girl that she is. Pierre realizes some things he would probably never realize had he not gotten trapped with Chocola in a cave. Chocola gets to meet someone who helped her realize the values of the hearts they had been gathering. Houx and Saule were able to find Vanilla lying on a bed in Pierre's mansion.

There is also a bonus story about Chocola and Vanilla when they were still little kids. Vanilla didn't want to have a nap during her nap time. Chocola comes to the rescue.

A preview in Japanese can be found in the last pages of the book. So, if you understand Japanese, you will be able to find out what happens in the next volume. Too bad for me I don't know how to read Japanese characters.

Even if you've seen the anime, you have got to read the manga because there's a lot of differences between the two.

I believe the book to be in excellent condition. I had been waiting to get the rest of the books to complete the manga collection and it was definitely a good choice.
