Last night, I had the extreme priveledge of seeing Scarlet Life perform live. They are an incredible group with a completely unique sound. It would be too easy to hackney them into being a trip-hop group. Their music is excellently written and performed. Their instrumentation is great - turntabling, an upright electronic bass, a massive soundboard and misc. noisemakers, and vocals. This CD has a very warm and whole feeling to it that many artists lack today. Every aspect of this CD is great. I really hope that they can break into the mainstream, or at least become much better known. This is a group of superb musicians and they deserve it. I would have paid 5 times as much to see them live.

Preston Klik delivers once again! For all you My Scarlet Life fans, this new incarnation is even better, with great singing by Chandra Clark. Some of the tunes are trance inspiring, while some have a harder, more rythmic edge.

I love this music! The title really says it all - Sugar Spice Saccarin & Cyanide - the music is strong without being harsh, mellow without being mushy. It is so hard to find an album these days that really rocks without relying too heavily on the tired, hard core "bang on the chords and scream" approuch. This is like PJ Harvey wakes up and gets a hard groove going. Truly intelligent and musical, rythmic and alive - I can't wait to see what this band does for an encore.
