I love these boots. I was looking for a boot that was both red and 100% man made materials, that also had a bit of a "rock star" look to it. I found it in the Sugar Guitar Hero wedge boot. I saw this boot on some of the vegan on-line stores for more money and they were also sold out of my size, but had it for less and in my size here.

Comfortwise, they're pretty good. I have problematic feet with a severe suppination problem and plantar fasciitis. The boots have lots of cushioning and are deep enough I could put an insert in easily, but I will warn that on their own, they don't have a lot of arch support. Also, my one warning about them is in my experience, Sugar shoes do seem to run a size small.

I love the look of these boots but I hope they hold up well. They look very much like leather from a distance, but close up, you can see that they're made of some kind of textile with a slick coating on it. This, I think, is good. It means that unlike with other non-leather boots, your feet don't get all sweaty.

Also, these boots should be good for people with larger calf sizes. On me, they stop short of where my calf starts to get large. My calves are 17 1/2" and no problem with these boots. I could even wear a pair of skinny jeans tucked into them.

This boot is very comfortable - you can literally walk all over town right out of the box - they are a little warm though, perhaps because they're vegan? the color isn't quite black, it's more like a deep eggplant than black, and some parts look a little lighter as if the dye has worn off...however, they are still super comfy and if you're not particular about getting a truly deep black pair of boots - i highly recommend these. the calf is large -- large enough to fit under a normal pair of jeans, nonetheless skinny jeans, and i think i have an average to 'full' size calf -- i.e. some boots don't go all the way up on me- but these do...jessica simpson boots do...if this helps in your measurements. they also have some cute plaid patterns that i'm thinking of getting as well.

After wearing these boots pretty consistently for a few months, I started developing some foot pain. I'm sad to say but I honestly think these boots and their lack of arch are the culprit. Since then I've had to wear only fit flop brand or wear orthodic inserts. When it first started happening I would only find comfort in rolling my foot over a softball to give it the right bend. Save your feet--- do not buy!

I just received these boots, hoping for the best since I have a very high arch...I slipped these on & they're wonderful! Very, very comfortable, true to size, roomy at the toe, even the arch support was good enough for even my high arch. A very cool looking boot for sure , you don't see everyone running around with these style boots on! Tough looking but sweet too. I love the slouchy, crinkly shaft , they do have almost an eggplant sheen to them when I go out in the sun, but it's very subtle , I actually like the effect.
These are not leather but they look very , very nice to be man made, no issues there. I've already gotten compliments the first day wearing them by both men & women.
If you like the look of a little toughness in your boots plus comfort these are perfect.
