As a specialist in internal medicine, I work with a number of clients who are caring for diabetic dogs and cats. It is an understatement to say that I am thrilled with Randi Golub's release of Sugarbabies. Not only is the information provided thorough and comprehensive, it is presented in a wonderfully user-friendly manner. I will be recommending Sugarbabies to all of my clients working with diabetic pets- it will make their lives easier and my job easier. Thank you so much Randi for creating this fabulous guide. Well done!

This book is packed with information about your diabetic pet. From telling you what diabetes is to how to give injections, diagnosing, diet, monitoring, must have supplies to keep on hand, ketoacidosis and traveling with your diabetic pet. To me, this is the best book on the market. It is a 'must have' for your pet. It even has a glossery and resources index.
The arthor is a CVT and had a diabetic pet as well.

FINALLY!! For years animals have gone through the rigors of conventional treatments when holistic approaches could have saved so much pain, suffering, AND MONEY!

Our applause to Randi Galub for realizing the value of holistic treatments and making them available in an obtainable and easily readable format!!

If you have a diabetic pet, this book is a must. I found out things that even the veterinarian didn't know about, therefore, we are able to discuss the best treatment for my cat.

As a veterinarian, I strongly recommend this book for anyone with a diabetic animal. Randi did a superb job of making it easy to understand for those without extensive medical knowledge, but also incredibly thorough for those who want just a little more assistance than what your veterinarian has already provided. Full of suggestions, tricks, and helpful hints, it will help answer all the questions that come up, and also improve your communication with your vet when problems do arise. It is the most user-friendly book on diabetes care that I have found. It takes away the fear and confusion surrounding this complicated disease, and will certainly improve quality of life for both pet AND owner!

It was OK but not what I thought from reading the other reviews. I have a diabetic dog not cat and though it addressed dogs also I felt I already knew most of the stuff that was in there. Hoping for something new.

I knew of diabetes, but have never dealt with it directly. That is until my 14 year old cat got diagnosed with glucose levels close to 600. Obviously, one needs to educate oneself in such situation and a good book helps a lot. Well, - unfortunately, there are many books around, also sold on Amazon, that are just junk apparently made to make money from frustrated and worried pet parents. What a shame! Anyway - this book is REALLY helpful. I am now much more experienced with what to do, including taking the glucose curve and I am still reading this book from time to time. Two days ago, the amount of insulin we gave was apparently too much, so two hours later the glucose read 26, which is VERY low and could lead to a hyperglycemic shock and/or coma (or worse). I was panicking and did not know what to do. The information in the book FOR THIS EXACT SITUATION was straightforward and, I think, has helped us to deal with this. My cat is fine now. With the help of this book, we are getting her stable and her glucose levels balanced. Thank you, Randi, for such a thoughtful book!
