This review is from: Sugino Single Speed 165mm Road 48t 3/32 130mm Alloy (Misc.)
This is a very good chainset, rigid (esp with 1/8 chainring), beautifully finished and not so expensive. Not much to write: solid piece of bicycle hardware.
The only problem is, that it is often advertised as track chainset and is expected to have 42mm chain line. It is not true! I heard it was a case for Sugino RD but it is not for available nowadays RD2. I have two RD2, one with 103mm tange bb, gives me approx. 44-45 chain line (acceptable), the other one (newer) with 103mm sugino bb gives me 46-47mm chain line (perfect for bolt on cog on front shimano disc hub, but fail if you need 42mm). I didn't try to find out if the chain line difference is because of bb or cranks. I moved the chainring to be inside and added 2mm spacers for my BB, now I have perfect chain line. Sugino website states correctly that the chain line is 45mm. Overall, it would be 5 star if the chain line is 42mm.
