Specifically, after one ride the Lycra had already begun pilling in the crotch area where it rubs against the nose of the saddle.

This new pair were definitely seconds though they were not sold that way and I should have returned them.

For the full retail price these bibs are listed at ($199), you could get low-end Assos bibs which would be as comfortable as could be and probably last a decade or more. Even at the price I paid ($130) I expect a certain level of quality; it's hardly chump-change, after all. I have bibs (Santini) for which I paid a little more than half as much ($70), which show less wear after being used 30+ times than these do after being used only once. Specifically, after one ride the Lycra had already begun pilling in the crotch area where it rubs against the nose of the saddle. The chamois is okay, but comparable in quality to the ones in several significantly cheaper shorts/bibs I own. For all that, I might have not sent them back, but I could not find a proper fit. For most non-Italian cycling apparel I take a large. For Italian brands, generally XL. I ordered these first in large, but the straps of the bibs were so tight I was afraid the seams were being stretched to their failing point. I sent those back and ordered XL, which were, alas, too large: rather baggy in the seat, and the leg grippers so loose that the fabric rode up over my knees while riding, leaving the knees exposed and thus defeating the whole purpose of knickers. So back these go as well. Ordered Castelli Sorpassos for slightly less money, which I used for the first time today and am quite pleased with. Also have Pearlizumi Pro Thermal bib knickers for which I paid $120, same price as the Castellis. Of the three (Sugoi, Castelli, Pearlizumi) the Castellis win hands-down. All are equally warm but the Castellis fit better than either of the others, have a better chamois, are more comfortable overall, and a bit more stylish. If you just want bib shorts, my favorites for a good price/performance ratio are the Santini CX bibs from Nashbar for $70. If I could have found a knicker version of those i would have bought 4 pair and not bothered with anything else.

Sizing guide is not accurate. Usually wear an XL bib. Had to go a size up for this brand. Straps are also too short and seem thin and cheap. Chamois appears to be on par with what other brands offer. Overall I think it's over-priced for what you get. I ended up returning mine.

These knickers are thermally on the inside and keep you warm when it's kind of cold out. They have a little zipper in the front that make them easier to take off because they come up higher than some other bibs I've had.

I bought my first pair a couple of years ago and outside of the seams coming loose on the zipper they have been exceptional. This new pair were definitely seconds though they were not sold that way and I should have returned them. Same great shami, but not even close to the same fit...
