Too Hot To Touch,

This review is from: SuicideGirls: Guide to Living (DVD)
A very sexy series of shorts featuring beautiful tattooed and pierced women from the Suicide Girls franchise. If you're a fan of beautiful women, you'll love watching these ladies teach you naked yoga, how to roll a joint, how to prepare and drink absinthe, how to throw a naked pool party, how to kill vampires, and a whole lot more. The vignettes are short and hosted by a bevy of different girls, and each featured model has a brief session where she shows off her tats and talks about herself a little bit. May not be the greatest sit-down-and-watch all at once DVD, but nice for viewing at short intervals, or I've found it to be awesome as a background video at parties.

how to... make a video of naked girls with a twist,
By
This review is from: SuicideGirls: Guide to Living (DVD)
Of course, this isn't a 'guide to living'... The Suicide Girls are feeling frisky and want to take their clothes off, but they don't like just doing it like that, it needs a story! So the story is that some of the girls have some important life lessons for you: how to roll a joint, how to kill a vampire, how to get girls skinny dipping in your pool... This overall story is actually ok. What's also nice is the little tattoo-bio (tell us about your tats) from a girl following every life lesson. The only thing that bothered me a little was the talking part. As segue into the next life lesson we see some girls sitting in a kitchen, talking about what we just saw. The acting in this part is so clumsy and awkward, I think the video would've been better without it. But all in all, watching this video is fun, sexy and a great pastime.

THis is my first suicide girls dvd that I purchased. I will admit that I was NOT dissapointed. The girls in this dvd are very beautiful in their own ways. YOu almost get a sense of their personality as they discuss the way they look and the way they live. Sure these girls are probably not the kind you'd bring home to your mom. BUt are they the type of girls that hang out with you and play video games and perhaps get drunk with you ? The answer is yes. NOw I understand some reviews here take a shot at the lack of nudity here. But I will be the first to say that the nudity here is not a problem, most girls are topless only. Thats fine with me. They do however offer a deeper exploration of their minds and perception of the world, which I believe, is even more intimate and revealing then nudity itself. All nudity in the end is done with grace and good taste. I got a sense that these girls were not reading a script, they were only being themselves. Which is is hard to find these days. I reccomend their other dvds as I got to buy them after I enjoyed this one.

Interesting and VERY sexy. Put together and directed very well. The beatiful women and their stories were also interesting. A MUST buy for avid fans of SuicideGirls.

Suicide Girls fans will love this one...,

By it's very title, the audience for this DVD is limited. Within the scope of it's audience (Suicide Girls fans) they will love this one. Fun, tongue firmly in cheek, a wink at all the insipid how-to and self-help drivel out there. The girls (particularly Rambo Suicide) are in on the joke and would love to let you in. This DVD deserves a wider audience than it will get, which is a shame. The five stars are for (besides the fact that I'm a fan) is for the pervading sense of fun. Check it out.

ENTERTAINING AND FUN TO WATCH,
By
This review is from: SuicideGirls: Guide to Living (DVD)
I liked this video and it was a lot of fun to watch. Normally if I only wanted nudity like the other reviewer I would have been disappointed. There is nothing wrong with full frontal nudity and they miss the mark and get 4 instead of 5 stars that this video would otherwise deserve. The funny thing is I don't even like tats on women. However, Kat VD has made me appreciate the art. I love the models Rambo is way cool and very sexy, Rijel is fun and hot hot hot, Friskie is very cute with a dark side, they make you wish you could jump right in with them because they are having so much fun. A truly relevant guide to modern living if you are lucky enough to know a SG. The MUSIC is great and you will watch some of the chapters over and over again, because it is so much fun!

Horrible Editing, Horrible DVD,
This review is from: SuicideGirls: Guide to Living (DVD)
The basic problem with this film is the lack of full nudity. I mean the girls are nude but no good looks of the crucial area is ever shown. I'm not really familiar with "The Suicide Girls" so maybe this is normal. However, this DVD seems to have replicated the worst aspects of the "Playboy" style of editing.
There is very little frontal nudity. Time after time there is a substantial build up to a girl removing her underwear and then...well, nothing. They show nothing and just cut to something else. I'm not even talking about having open leg shots. The simple lack of even just basic pan shots over the front of the girls body so that the crotch is shown makes for a very weak DVD. I never could understand this. Imagine a video where there is a 5 minute build up to a girl taking her top off, but then once it's off the breasts are never shown. It's the same thing here except with the underwear. They tease and build up to removing them, but then never give any kind of a decent crotch shot. Very weak, if not unwatchable DVD. |
