2.0 out of 5 stars Zombies from Outer Space, June 24, 2010

This review is from: The Suiciders (Mass Market Paperback)
The Suiciders, a novel by J. T. McIntosh, was published in November 1974 by Avon. This title has never been reprinted. Perhaps it was the sub title from the cover of the Avon edition that discouraged new editions: "Technological Space Warfare with an Unexpected Super-Weapon - Witchcraft". The edition of this novel published in England had the title "The Space Sorcerers".

Surprisingly the book turned out to be modestly entertaining once you accepted wars in outer space and witchcraft. How you ask does the author combine these two seemly contradictory concepts? Well, there are these two planets in the same stellar system that are at war. One of the planets is invaded by suicidal waves of zombies. Theses zombies are "infused" with souls by witchcraft. So now you know.

The Scottish writer James Murdoch MacGregor always used the pseudonym J. T. McIntosh when he wrote science-fiction. During the period of his active writing - 1953-79 - he wrote 16 novels. None of his books are in prints and in fact few have ever been reprinted.
