This is one of the worst guides I've seen and it's a real shame because if any game needs a good guide it's Suikoden V. Unfortunately, there are so many errors in the text that when accompanied by the innacurate and overly vague directions, you might as well just use the internet. In some places the text is completely cut off, and one characters description is literally a bunch of jibberish. In addition the art aspect only furthers the condemnation of this book. Badly taken and even more badly printed, the screenshots are often too bright to see much of anything and the concept art in the back is a joke: comprising of only a few pictures of various monsters in the game. The one redeeming art feature is some nicely done art of various characters intersperced throughout the book, however these are the same pictures of the characters you see in the games starting sequence. There isn't even a single map to help you navigate the often very large towns of Suikoden V. Sadly, it is my reccomendation that if you need help to recruit all 108 stars of destiny, save yourself $15 and use the internet.

I have to agree with the first review, this book is ATROCIOUS and not worth your money. It is so incredibly frustrating to play 30+ hours and re-start the whole game, just because the guidebook did not provide clear concise instructions on how to recruit this guy, when gamefaqs.com shows that you can recruit him earlier. And worse, there are NO maps, what the **? It is a waste of money. Guidebooks are supposed to help gamers get the best ending, best gears and directions so that we don't have to waste time wandering around in dungeons and world maps!! Take it from me, go gamefaqs.com and don't buy this junk!

I'm surprised that this guide was published with the number of errors it contains. There's typos throughout, mislabeling of characters/towns, and some of the information is inaccurate! What information they do have is frequently vague, making the guide not particularily helpful if you're looking for an elusive chest or if you take a wrong turn in a dungeon. There is also not a single map in the entire thing. Seriously, did anyone edit this book before they published it? And do they know what a strategy guide is for?
