Book Description

Sometimes, destiny steps in and when it does, it leaves its calling card on your doorstep unannounced. When Sully Maguire and Katie Brewer met, the two of them never imagined that destiny was leading them to each other. Katie Brewer had longed to find a father--ever since her own father's death and when, at sixteen, an accident left her face badly scarred. All those years later, her own life falling apart, she stepped into Sully's Place on a day made for destiny, and Sully Maguire just happened to be tending bar at his own bar and restaurant when she walked through the door. His own life wasn't quite what it was quite what it was supposed to be , either. And that's the day that both of their lives changed forever--when destiny brought them to each other.

Sully and Me is based on a true story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here's a story you'll love! November 16, 2003
Format:Paperback
Katie Brewer and Sully Maguire are unforgettable characters who clutch your heart as you read their story. Here's a story you'll want to read in one sitting, then re-read for the pleasure of absorbing over again all the drama and sensitivity the book portrays. The world would be a far better place if all of us had a Sully Maguire in our lives!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sully and Me Miracles Do Happen October 28, 2003
Format:Paperback
There is a part of Sully and Katie in each of us. Not everyone is blessed enough to have a friend step into our lives and restore our faith in people. A friendship, a love, a respect is born and there is not a motive in the world. When one stops long enough to care, to open themselves to another, you never know..you may find yourself flying a kite and enjoying the simpliest things in this world. Everyone should know a Sully, we would have a better world.

A poignant story about a sweet friendship.

Just when her life seemed at its lowest, Katie meets Sully. Sully is the father figure she'd been praying for and together they share many wonderful Fridays as she stores up memories and life lessons in the box he presents to her.

One thing I found rather odd was the sexual references made between the two.

More About the Author

I've been writing full-time since 1991. I sold my first short fiction to local NPR affiliates and began freelance writing for magazines and newspapers. I wrote, produced and directed several plays at the regional level. Since fiction was (and still is) my first love, I began writing the novels I always wanted to write. I am the author of "Seasons"--yes, it's a romance, but it's more than that--it's actually an unforgettable love story based on "a true story" (mine). It chronicles the love of two people who were worlds apart, with so many obstacles in their way that it seemed impossible that they should ever find each other or be together. I wrote "Sully and Me", a novella, about the miracle of a father-daughter relationship between two people that had no blood ties and it is dedicated to the "real Sully Maguire" (yes, another work based on a true story). I created the humor saga, "Southern Hussy Bitches" and well, they're just plain fun. However, don't let that fool you. Those women can render justice and balance the scales better than most people. It's the first in a book series; plans are underway to release two books per year in that series. I am working on THE POOR CLARES OF WASHINGTON--about three nuns and a priest who set up "shop" (or should I say, their monastery) in Washington to change politics and lives forever. I will release my first murder mystery PLACE OF THE DAMNED in late 2012/early 2013. And in 2013, I will release my literary novel BITTERROOT. I am also developing a print serialization, in magazine format, entitled CHARITY JUNCTION.

I have a wide background in conducting novel writing classes and workshops as well as offering book publishing and marketing workshops to the private sector.
