After 3 months of use, this computer case is turning out to be not very durable. The stitching on the shoulder strap started coming apart, and I had to replace with one from an old computer case that I had.

The other negative is that the nylon material is not very thick or strong, so the case would sag unless it's full. You need the contents to hold the bag in shape instead of the other way around. Paperwork would come out curled or wrinkled at the corners.

I liked the bag at the beginning as it was able to carry a 17" laptop with room to spare and it looked nice for the price, but unfortunately it didn't stay that way for long.

Nice computer case that can hold 17" screen laptops with room to spare. The computer compartment has securing straps and a padded divider for accessories. The design is all black and business-like, nothing fancy here. It has a few other features that I find useful:

a) A large file compartment, separate from the computer compartment, which is expandable (you pull a zipper and it opens up accordion-style)

b) Back pocket with Velcro seal and luggage handle loop. This is very useful when you travel, for sliding in tickets, boarding passes and other travel documents without having to open other zippered compartments

c) Similar, large front pocket with Velcro seal for miscellaneous items like business cards and pens, MP3 players and small cameras, etc. Useful for tossing in your cell phone and keys when going through airport security lines.

d) The shoulder strap is detachable, and is attached to the bag through a metal loop. I have had bad experience with computer cases with plastic loops which break too often, and cases that use an eyelet for the loop - that tends to wear over time and break after a few years.

The only things I wish in this computer case are more small pockets with zippper or Velcro. This one has about 6 pockets in total, but some are open pockets without closures - for frequent travel, it would be nice to have 12 or more pockets.

EDIT: after 3 months of use, I changed the rating from 4 to 1 star. This computer case is turning out to be not very durable. I bought this case back in 2005 when I bought my laptop, and it's still working great! It holds my 15" widescreen laptop with room to spare, along with the power adapter, mouse, and game pads. When I was still in school, it also held several notebooks, textbooks, and other scholarly essentials. The document pocket kept my documents fairly wrinkle free even when stuffed to capacity.

The bag (and the laptop within) have been used and abused like only a student can. It's been sat on, tossed, dropped, kicked, dragged, spilled on, and left in the car for hours on hot summer days. This bag has protected the laptop beyond expectation! The only thing that has broken on it in 5 years is one of the zippers.

Not only is this bag great for school, it's also perfect for travelling. Besides my electronics (including phone, mp3 player, headphones etc...) there's plenty of room for books, magazines, and snacks. It also fits perfectly under the seat of most coach class airlines that I've flown on. It goes with me everywhere, whether I take my laptop or not.

This bag is so great that if/when it dies, I will buy another one. I've also bought one for my father and aunt for their laptops, and they love it too!
