Not a bad game. About what I expected.,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Summer Athletics The Ultimate Challenge (Video Game)
My friend and I just played this game the other night for about 5 hours. Some of the events can be pretty challenging, especially if you're not great at jamming at the stick. Most, if not all of the track and field events involved that. Diving and Cycling was kind of challenging at 1st getting used to what to do, especially mastering the tougher dives. I wished there were a few more events like Judo, and skeet, but all in all we got what we expected out of the experience. Also was a great price as well, bought a used one for about $6. Couldn't go wrong with it, and ended up with a red palm after we were finished! Most people probably aren't fans at having to beat the crap out of their analog sticks, but it is what it is when it comes to these kind of games and you have to expect that.

I did not like this game. You would need a joystick to do everything that they wanted. It was fun for a minute then it got boring because my fingers were tired.

While the premise for this game is great, and the graphics are pretty decent, the control scheme is a pain. For swimming competitions, for example, you have to rotate the two thumb-controlled joysticks with coordinated movements and a great deal of speed. Competing in a 200M race made me have to put the game down for a few minutes to recover.
This, to me, is not a game for kids. I find the control scheme to complicated to quickly and confidently pick up. I also find the physical actions required to maintain adequate control of the game's action to be laborious, if not potentially damaging to growing hands. If nothing else, it sure hurt mine. I have little intention of ever playing this game a second time. 2115|R1Z2MR3DH7K4AI;2115|R1G4ZEAGHABRL4;2115|R3CERRZA2WKOUD;
